The title goes well with the book. It has been chosen very intelligently and wisely. The book surely helps you learn to connect with yourself.
Cover portrays a pool of water with the shape of human face. A human is seen jumping in the pool. The picture signifies how he book is related to our own psychology and self analysis. It gives away the idea of self discovery and improvement.
The book attempts to answer some of life's interesting questions relates to why we do what we do. Each chapter in the book is self-sufficient. The best thing about the book is that the reader does not need to start reading from the first chapter and can follow any order that he/she chooses. The book explains psychology along with a brief knowledge of neuro sciences. It also teaches us to realise that perceptions can differ. It has different elements of life such as intelligence, decisions, habits, willpower, self control, emotions, happiness, learning etc.
Beautifully written. Every aspect has been put down in a very easy-to-understand way. The best part of the book was that at the end of each chapter there were key takeaways which were very helpful.
Instances from life and various medical information have been provided very properly. The entire content has been jotted down in a brilliant way.
-- Key takeaway points at the end of each chapter.
-- Each element has been supported by medical facts and information.
-- Easy to understand content.
-- Seekers of self-help books
-- People looking for new ways of life
-- People willing to connect with their own self
QOUTES / BEST LINES
-- Our perceptions are our personal truths born from experiences. Similarly, perceptions of others are their truth too. We must be aware that others perceptions can be as right as our own.
-- Given that the understanding of intelligence has been constantly changing, instead of measuring it to exactness, our focus should be on identifying a person's specific strengths.
-- Change is inevitable. The only solution is adapting. This is done either by learning new skills or rectifying something learnt incorrectly in the past.
-- To be able to create a desired habit, it is helpful to be aware of our very specific and personal purpose for wanting to do so.
-- Every decision we take, even when we believe it to be taken solely on the rational grounds, also shares an emotional basis. In fact, without emotions, decisioning is itself impossible.
-- Every instance of asserting our will is a choice between two different motives----one with immediate and tangible gratification, the other with delayed and abstract gratification.
-- Our brain tends to urge us to choose the action that results in immediate and tangible gratification. It tends to discount the action that provides a long-term and abstract gratification.
-- Our emotions are not merely a result of the circumstances we find ourselves in. They are more a result of our beliefs and thought processes. They are therefore controllable.
-- Being aware that personality traits--- aggressiveness or excessive worrying--- can become contributing factors helps check these tendencies and aids further in reducing stress.
-- Life's circumstances, contrary to general perception, account for merely 10% of the happiness we experience. It is important to stop thinking of ourselves as being at the mercy of our life's circumstances.

The true secret of happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life. -William Moris
The book is a combination of neuroscience, philosophy and psychology. The book is divided into ten chapters Perspectives, Intelligence, Learning, Habits, Decisions and Biases, Emotions, Happiness and where author explains the connection with yourself in different situations. Every chapter starts with a inspiring quotes and the end of every chapter there are key points where you get important point from the particular chapter. The author had done lot’s of research while writing the book and it’s highly appreciable.
The words were simple and the language is lucid which eased the reading. Narration is done well. The book is free from any grammatical errors and has been perfectly edited.
All in all, a good easy book to read in one sitting.
I’ll recommend this book to all the readers who want to know more about yourself. I won’t say that reading this book entirely changes your life but I’m sure your approach towards life and many other will surely get influenced.
Overall Rating 4.5/ 5 Stars
It is a fine combination of neuroscience, psychology and philosophy. The book deals with some of the most basic and interesting questions of our lives. In author's words, " every life is an interesting story and this story is best written when people go through life's experiences by staying deeply connecting to who they truly are."
Self-introspection is the key concept behind it.
The book is divided into various chapters which enlighten the readers about the different aspects of life like 'why perceptions differ?', ' why are we designed to excel at different things?', ' what goes behind making the right decisions?' and other such life altering questions. The author has quoted various examples to clarify each concept. The best part for me was 'Key takeaways from the chapter' at the end of each chapter which summed up the entire chapter in few words without missing the core essence.
Language is lucid, understandable and helps the readers connect with the author's ideas. The book is extensively researched and author has provided references at the end of the book.
Cover image is attractive, thought-provoking and innovative. Title is inspiring and motivating. Blurb is crisp, concise and gives a clear picture of what the book is all about.
I would like to rate it as 4.7/5.
Indeed, a perfect amalgamation of science and philosophy. Recommend to everyone...
The book deals with Neurosciences and human psychology related to human brains. How the perceptions of individual differs on a particular matter is described with good examples which is relatable to us.
Basically the motive of the author behind writing the book is to make us understand the reason of our activities and thinking process of our brain which differs from others many times and by visualizing those facts we can achieve the self realization and connect with our own mind deeply which could help us in many aspects.
I liked the "Key takeways from the chapter" very much at the end of the chapter which is the summary of the chapter. Languager of the book is lucid and easy to understand. Book is a good one time read if you really want to connect with yourself.
