Released in 2013, The Conjuring (2013) is an American horror film with its nucleus on supernatural occurrences. The movie was directed by James Wan and stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga in the lead roles of Ed and Lorraine Warren. The two are paranormal investigators as well as authors and they deal with every well-known case of haunting in the city. The James Wan movie focuses on one such incident where the Warrens are summoned to help the Perron Family played by Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor who are faced with a terrorizing, disturbing presence in their farmhouse.

As the story unfolds, Ed and Lorraine Warren are forced to come face to face with the Herculean dark entity, in the attempt to help out the Perron family in the most terrorizing case they've ever encountered. Set in 1971, the story narrates how Roger Perron moves into an old farmhouse with his wife Carolyn and daughters Nancy andrea, Christine, April and Cindy on Rhode Island. Soon after moving in, the family stumbles upon a concealed basement in the house when is heavily locked at the entrance.

Things start to get spooky when noises and ghosts are encountered by the family, their dog Sadie is found dead outside the house and Carolyn wakes up with unexplained bruises. Christine and Nancy are attacked by an invisible figure one night and the family hears sounds of clapping and giggling as picture frames start to shatter on the stairs. This is when the Warrens are called for by Carolyn to investigate the haunted presence in the house. Their investigation uncovers the mystery behind the presence, which leads them to the story of a witch who sacrificed her seven-day old child for Satan. She has possessed every new mother in the house ever since and forced them to kill their children.

This spine chilling movie follows an exorcism that is finally conducted and the aftermath of the event. The Conjuring (2013) by James Wan was released on 2013 by Warner Bros and rated U/A. The film is available in English with English subtitles in the Blu-ray format and has a runtime of 110 minutes.
