Product Description

A steamy, full-length, standalone romance with a guaranteed HEA from Amazon Bestselling author J.H. Croix! If you like smoking hot romance with alpha men and strong women, you’ll love this series!

In this captivating love story set against the stark beauty of the Alaskan wilderness, Hannah Gray returns to her hometown after the death of her parents. Once wild and impulsive, she shut her heart off to love and adventure after her parents died. When she meets Luke Winters, their immediate attraction is overwhelming.

Burned once before, Luke has committed himself to nothing but casual dalliances with women. Rugged and sexy, he finds no shortage of women happy to oblige. When Hannah comes along, he questions what he might be missing. Both fight the depth of their feelings—love is not part of the plan.

Hannah’s sense of identity is shaken when she unearths a surprising truth about her family. Meanwhile, Luke’s interfering family and complications from his past challenge Hannah and Luke to face their true feelings for each other.

Can two people who don’t believe love is worth the risk find the courage to face their fears and open their hearts?

*All novels in this series are full-length standalone novels with an HEA.

1.0 out of 5 stars This was a romance? 8 January 2016

Not sure what others were reading but I feel bad for them if they think this was. I don't even know where to start it was that bad. First the editing was awful. Have they heard of personal pronouns?
Then we have a story of a grown woman who did stupid things with her life and stayed away from her family to come back two years later and did nothing but whine and mope about them not being there. When she came back she should have gotten therapy and left Susie at the curb. She was a nosey, controlling person who couldn't keep her mouth shut.
Hannah meets this "awsome" guy who can't decide through 80% of the book to care about her. He had sex with her every time they turned around everywhere but in a bedroom, but if someone saw him with her he told them it was because of the dog.
There was way too much description of the area as other reviews said and I thought if i had to hear of Luke's dark hair and green eyes again I would poke mine out. This author needs to get another job.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too slow and too detailed for me. 4 January 2016

I couldn't stand it any longer. The slow and too detailed read. Got through part of chapter 10 and could not read any more. We get that her parents died and her feelings of how it affects her but come on, it is mentioned too many times that it just drove me crazy. I tried, I really did want to get to the drama of what I read from the description but had to give up.
Some readers like a slow and romantic read, I like a fast and romantic read with lots of drama. So, this book was not for me.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read!!! 2 July 2015

This is the first book in the Diamond Creek Alaska Novels and the books can be read as stand alone or even out of order and leave you lost. Hannah comes home to Diamond Creek after being away at school for two years to deal with the feelings of being lost and lonely, she is not looking for romance. Luke Winters and his two brothers have moved to Diamond Creek to run their fishing and guide boat business and Luke is not looking for romance. Both have been burnt badly by a past relationship and keep things casual and guarded...until the meet each other. The chemistry is spontaneous but each has reasons to deny it but neither can fight it. Secrets are discovered, the past catches up and in this small town family and friends bond together. The scenery is breathtaking and makes you feel like you are there in Alaska.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review. Thank you J.H. Croix and Jay from Choosy Bookworm for the chance to read this.
P.S: I also purchased this book to share 😃

2.0 out of 5 stars Wishy washy characters and very slow reading 11 February 2016
By Jotaluke - Published on Amazon.com

Very wishy-washy characters. Do I? Should we? Oh, no better not? But wait! What if? Multiply these scenarios over and over again and then do the same with the scenic descriptions and how everyone looked. Curly hair doing this, dark hair, green eyes blah, blah, blah. The reader knows their description as given by the writer and it is ok to throw it in from time to time to allow us to remember, but not so much that we're sick of hearing about it. Her constant scenic descriptions read more like an Alaskan vacation sales pitch than a love story.

The books was slow and repetitious. The author could have written this book in a quarter of its length and still gotten across every detail of this book that she did by dragging it out to the point that I wanted to put it down in the last 30 minutesThe book had very wishy-washy characters. Hannah returns home to Diamond Creek after being away at school. Her parents having died in a plane crash two years before has kept her away.Hannah has went from chasing after men after a bad break up to almost being a nun.Luke and his two brothers moved to town not long after Hannah left for school. He stayed away from relationships. He leaned his lesson the hard way. meeting Hannah he feels the spraks flying but tries not to take things to serious.
I feel in love with the characters in this book. Hannah and Luke are just so sweet together. Then you add in all the other wonderful characters in town and this is shaping up to be a fantastic series. Love reading about Alaska and all the wonderful details the author provides.
