Colours of Passion - A neatly sketched crime thriller with no loopholes anywhere. Every characters are portrayed and explained with utmost care and every chapters makes the readers to guess and proves them wrong at the end. Every chapter is an immediate page turner and hooks the readers with the book till the end. The author deserves an applause for the hard work he underwent in furnishing the book to be a great success. Also this engrossing book doesn't fail to excite the readers with its amazing twists and turns at the end.
The usage of simple words with lucid language makes the book, a comfortable and easy read. Apart from being a crime thriller, the book also delivers a great social message which I want the readers to uncover by their ownself ( no spoilers).
The front and back cover of the book has a different story to tell and they goes apt with the plot of the book. The blurb gives a deep insight of what's hidden deep inside the book.
Thriller lovers, don't miss it.
Agni and Arya are in charge of the investigation. With interesting aspects like suspects ranging from Rituja Bose who had a relationship with Mayank Kapoor who in turn was seeing Hiya as well even after she got married, and Neha, with whom Manav breaks up the engagement prior to getting married to Hiya, the entire plot becomes real rich and it always keeps you busy with something new to be discovered on the next page. I personally loved the character of A.C.P. Agni Mitra. However I feel that readers could better connect to his investigation and his own flashbacks, had it been written in first person narrative. The same applies for the beautiful revealing of the sub plots , it would seemingly appear more natural in case if it was written in 1st person narrative.
Yet, the plot is not as simple as it appears, and thus by the time we reach the end, there are many unanswered questions. The case seems inexplicable until Agni and Arya together find out the truth. With the fine festive setting in the city of joy, Kolkata this piece of love, suspense, crime, blood and mystery has certain amazing twists and turns; but could've been better proofread and edited as there are certain glitches that might hinder the smooth flow of the story as one reads it.
The Colours Of Passion revolves around the murder of Tollywood actress Hiya Sen and ACP Agni Mitra investigates this high profile murder where he meets Manav, Hiya's husband, Manav's ex fiancée, her father. Agni starts finding the answers to the questions and unveil shocking truths.
The book is set in Kolkata's glamorous world of industrialists, movie stars, models and fashion designers laced with drug addiction and illicit liaisons.
The Colours Of Passion is an intense murder mystery. It is a fast paced story having short chapters making it pacy. There are a lot of characters in the story but the author has characterized them well. The language of the book is simple and is flowing. All the events are very well described, giving very detailed explanation and can be visualized very well by a reader. The story is full of twists and turns and author has penned down very nicely. The narration is really good and author has done a great job with it. The book will keep the reader hooked up till the end. A very engrossing read with a lot of drama and a good murder mystery. The title is very well justified and composed. Overall, a page turner and an amazing read for murder mystery readers.
