These versatile jars are clear glass with a locking hinged lid and rubber seal gasket! These are great for decorating with glass paints, making mini wax candles from, wedding favors or using just as they are for canning or household organization. These hold approximately 8 fl. oz. and the opening (mouth of jar) is 2 Inches in diameter. The glass is pretty thick and the jars themselves are rather hefty for their size. See our store for other glass jars, votive candle holders and larger lots. 4.5" high x 2.5" Round in size. **Please note: we do an excellent job packing these glass jars for shipping by UPS Ground. In the unlikely event that some breakage occurs we will refund your payment accordingly. We do not ship replacements on glass items so please plan your needs accordingly. Thank you.

I would have given these two stars but I feel it is worth noting (and deducting another star) that these come with a very potent rubbery off smell that transfered to my hands by just pulling them out of the box. It's not a pleasant fragrance and I would sure hate to work in or live by the factory that assembles these (probably in china). If I were to use these I would clean the hell out of them and let the gaskets air out for a week or so before ever putting food near them or in them.
I don't trust these at all; they will be returned; I will be ordering another case of the 8oz ball jars that are of higher quality and 1-3rd the price.
The clasp on the jar is a little thin. It could be a stronger. It didn't close the jar very tight and it leaked a little when I tipped it to the side. Had to be very careful and keep it upright when traveling. I'm used to this jar style having a nice solid 'click' when the clasp closes, but don't really get that on these.
