Something different than those cliched feel-good love stories
3 October 2014
I am glad there are some Indian authors like Kulpreet Yadav who dare to offer something refreshingly different than the run-of-the-mill love stories Indian book market is flooded with these days.
The positives... the language is simple yet elegant and will appeal to many. The attention to detail is noteworthy - the images flow in front of your eyes naturally. There is good pace all along, esp after Andy reaches Mumbai.
The misses... the plot is little too simplistic, but I guess you can pack only that much in a 250-page novel. Until Indian readers mature to and start enjoying 500-page thrillers, authors will be forced to compromise on complexity. The romance piece feels a little forced at places, and could certainly have been more developed.
Overall... a great read for readers who want to try something different than those cliched love stories.
Looking forward to the next one in the series.
