Chocolate Milkshake is a very riveting tale of an indomitable spirit of a super human being who overcame all the odds of his life through his determination and positivism. Hats off to him for his never say die attitude. It is rightly said that attitude determines the altitude and the seed of the attitude is the thought. To keep oneself enthused and energetic and focused all the time on the chosen goal in the face of all the adversity is not a mean achievement. The story is indeed worth emulating for all of us lesser mortals. The author is a perfect embodiment of the qualities that he narrated in the ISB interview. We had all witnessed his humility and deftness whenever we met, but the biggest contributor to his success is the resilience. It is the ability to respond to the situation in right perspective. Situation of life is not in our control but seizing the moment through right attitude has all along been his forte. The book depicts very vivid description of all the happenings which shows that he is a very good observer of life and believes in living the moment to the fullest. The book also told about many other facets of his life which were not known to me. The author and his book perfectly conforms to, "Write something worth reading or do something worth writing." Wishing you all the very best.
having followed the author's blog earlier, it was intriguing to know more. The book is a strand of hay from the stable of thousands of heroic war hero stories. it would be easy to dismiss as another army story. the book is more than that, it is a young man's account of his life in the armed forces, before it and after it. The book is very inspiring and makes one contemplate of the lives of these soldiers, who have chosen to defend the one idea called Nation: in this case India. it helps one to introspect one's achievements, choices, losses, so called failures. it is a certain boost of confidence and the zest for life.
Pros: the narrative. it smoothly narrates the life without boring the reader through self indulgence. conversational. non apologetic.
Cons: colloquial English as spoken by the youth of india.
Suggestion: do not let the English judge the content. its a book worth reading.
Well this book tells you a story of braveheart who despite going through severe odds, stands up against it and works towards his betterment. The description of life in NDA seems purely realistic and you will really feel those moments in your heart like meeting girls, going out on specific days. The way he introduces his girlfriend is pretty majestic and it really kept me delighted throughout her presence in the book. Also for MBA aspirants, there is a brief description of "pagalguy.com", a website which many might not be knowing but is really helpful for CAT preparations. You will never want the book to come to an end. Epic piece of a real story which one rarely encounters in life.
Knowing the author personally for many years now and then comparing with what he had put in ink. I feel the author has written his heart and soul on paper. An awesome and inspirational read. It brings out a fight of a soldier and a great human with himself and the circumstances. Finally the main character comes out to be the winner in all spheres defying all sensical and nonsensical logic made by the society.
The most amazing part of the book is the great language, smooth flow and a great humour embedded inside which forces the reader to continue the book at length.
It's a must for all ex Nda, budding soldiers, nda aspirants and younger generation.
An awe-inspiring journey of an awesome individual (these are our real heroes!). It's a fun read (as well as a very motivating book!) and I read it in one go. The journey from the Army (loved reading about the NDA days) to the B-schools with life changing events was really amazing. Loved the touch of humour (especially the fauji dialogues)! The romantic angles were honest and emotional.
Felt fortunate that i got a chance to read such an inspiring stuff, which not only depicts the courage & determination of our armed forces personnel but at the same time presents an emotional side too as a human.
The book is an interesting & an inspiring read which always tell us that sky is the limit & a person has immense potential, the only requirement is self belief. I Strongly recommend this book for all ages who are succumbed to adversities & have even a small bit of desire to come out of it.
Many thanks to the author for bringing out this & being the lighthouse for many disoriented ordinary citizens like me.
This book helps one realize the inner potential one could count on. It nurtures the self-confidence and never-say-never attitude. The USP of this book is its simple language and its capacity to inspire without being preachy. It is just a plain simple story of a common man who dealt with all that the life had to offer and managed to evolve as a successful individual. The fact that this is a real life account adds the necessary trust factor.
I felt the modesty of the author has interfered with communication of the determination one needs in order to achieve this. It is no easy feat to stay focused while in the middle of the puddle. It would have been lot more useful if there was special focus on the strategies employed to stay tuned. The NDA modified DNA helped Sidhanth but not everyone is fortunate enough.
