Platform For Display: PlayStation 4Edition: StandardVerified Purchase

Amazing game. The best in the series since the "next-gen" kicked in. Out of the 3 developers working on the series, Treyarch is perhaps the most seasoned at the moment. It shows in the quality of the game. The single player campaign is the longest in the series averaging at something around 8 hours. There are no quick time events in the game, unlike previous CoDs. The levels are huge and there's a very palpable sense of scale that wasn't quite around in Advanced Warfare. DNI abilities adds a fun new dimension to the gameplay, allowing you to approach each level with a different play style. While the the visuals are pretty great, by CoD standards, the facial animations especially the lip movements during the cutscenes could have been better. I'm, of course, nitpicking here. It does not hamper the experience by any means. Set pieces are well spaced out with a lot of sections of good ol boots-on-ground shooting segments. There are even proper boss fights in the game! Again, a first for CoD. The story is well thought out with a good load of twists right up to the end, typical Treyarch stuff at play here. The story isn't impacted by the choices you make though, as it was on Black Ops 2, which I think would have been pretty neat to have here. There's a bonus zombies campaign for you to play through as well once you're done with the main story which wasn't remotely as interesting as it was challenging. There's also Dead Ops 2 arcade mode available to play. If you don't have a PS+ subscription, the multiplayer can still be played, minus the progression, with bots. Purely in terms of content, this is the biggest CoD yet.
