I had tried the IHome version but was not satisfied with the quality....this unit is perfect! I would recommend this All-in-One. They are not easy to find and the quality is very good as was the price. Plus, I like purchasing from Amazon for the customer service.
Futuristic but elegant design. Small footprint for what it does. Sound volume is plenty enough for a small room. I play classical music cd's on this on my daughter's room to help her sleep and I set volume at 15-20 which reaches other rooms in our townhome as well. Cheaper than Bose by almost $300, and thats comparing it to the one that doesn't have Bluetooth yet. Bluetooth and USB port, Audio-in comes standard through the 3.5 mm jack behind. FM and AM comes standard which I cant believe is not found on all micro hifi of the same form factor. Tells you the name of the song and artist while on FM. CD player built-in is what reeled me to this product as it is so hard to find nowadays in this size and form.
Small buttons on top. Remote control helps with that problem though.
Bass a bit weak but to be expected. Bought for the nursery so it was fine as the baby would not be listening to rock and roll for a while.
Can't be run on batteries. Not portable meant to stay in one place or indoors.
Buy if you have a baby that needs a cd player to play those baby shower cds. Small footprint means more space for other baby stuff in her bedside. Perfect buy for me or people who have a good cd collection.

Sony All-In-One Compact and Stylish Micro Music Stereo System at $168
I must say you get what you pay for. They all worked flawlessly out of the box and paired in seconds. Surprisingly I enjoyed listening to them all. I bought the least expensive first and liked it but after a few days I found myself wanting “more sound”. I stepped up to the Shark. It was more money but clearly sounded better. Indeed if I had stopped there and not been compulsive about having “the best I can reasonably afford” I think I would still be happy with the Shark. However I decided if I don’t spend it now the kids will only blow it on themselves later, so I bought the Sony unit. I am glad I did. I do not feel the compulsion to explore devices with bigger sound. This unit is great. I don’t listen to loud music anymore and generally like piano jazz and singer songwriters like James Taylor. So my taste are low key and the sound from the Sony is excellent for the artists I listen too. If you are like me and find yourself trading up skip steps one and two and go right to the Sony stereo system. I can also vouch for the other two at their respective price points as well but there is a trade off clearly where more money buys you better sound.
