Broken Crayons Can Still Colour By Captain Rakesh Walia
This book is an autobiography of the author himself, Captain Rakesh Walia. In this book his struggles and various experiences are clubbed. This is an inspiring story telling us how he was a lone and orphan child, who overcame insurmountable odds to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming a proud officer of Indian Army and later climbed the ladder of corporate success.
First of all, the title of the book is so apt for the story within, telling us how with hope and hardwork we can achieve our goals. And how obstacles are just a thriving factor in our lives
Language used in this book is pretty lucid and easy making it more reachable to all. And the format in which the story is presented is quite impacting too; incorporation of his personal photos added a relatable factor to it.
The story of the author for teenagers is like a inspiration. This book teaches us a lot of life lessons, how to struggle in our life to achieve something good, how discipline and loyalty can win anything.
What I don't like in this book is its length. I am into autobiographies, and I want them elaborated. This book as compared to those was quite short..and my urge to know more was partially fulfilled.
This story needs to be heard. After putting this book down you will know how hope and hardwork conspires and let you will the battle. This book is a ray of inspiration, encouragement and bravery.
Last time I read such an amazing novel was "As the crow flies" by Jeffrey Archer.
This story encompasses hardships, hopes, and dreams. And what is so great about the journey portrayed is that it moves you, it gives you hope.

This novel is an inspirational autobiography. I didnt like the cover at all, still I picked this book because it is an inspirational autobiography from the life of Captain Rakesh Walia. When I picked this novel, i had a lot of expectations, but there were many instances in the novel which i felt were fiction. The motive of the author behind this novel is to inspire people to fulfill their dreams and live a content life. But the novel did not lived upto the mark and its purpose of inspiring people. The title was not good enough but i felt that the blurb was good enough to create curiosity among the readers' mind. People who need some inspiration from a real life story, should pick this novel.
