The breakfast section, lunch section and dinner section are full of traditional Bengali recipes and her food tales. From her childhood to her initial office days to her life in a new country and after becoming a mother, the book is full of real life stories that would make you want to adore her. Recipes are collected from several places, from her mother’s kitchen, her mother-in-law’s kitchen but all cooked with a little of herself. And it makes the whole journey interesting. Bongmom’s CookBook is not a recipe book. It is the memories of thousands of mothers who get the happiness in cooking and feeding their families and neighborhoods. The book can alone be read for the memories that Bongmom shared. That part solely has the power to take you back into your good ol’ childhood when you didn’t have to worry where you were eating.
