This was a stunning conclusion to The Heroes of Olympus series. The ending was really nice, especially the part with Nico and Will 😂 The final battle and conclusion was everything I like in Riordan's books. So many people worked together. Super fun to read. Tied up so many loose ends and set up for Trials of Apollo. Also, pretty hardcover.
Seven half-bloods shall answer the call, To storm or fire the world must fall. An oath to keep with a final breath, And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death.
We have come down to the most important book in the series (HOO). I have to admit that I'm kinda tired of saying this, but, awesome cover page as usual. Nice to see what the crew looks like in the eyes of the author (Rick Riordan). Our prayers have been answered (at least mine has been) to see the crew in the biggest combat in PJO history.
Again Rick Riordan has done an awesome job. I just wish, we had some bonus stories about the crew of the Argo II-Percy, Annabeth, Jason, Piper, Leo, Hazel and Frank (we'll add Reyna, Coach Hedge and Nico in there too).
The story starts of with Jason introducing his life of difficulties as an old man and then fighting to near death. But this proves to be worth it as the crew finds out about the dangers of traveling through Delphi to reach Greece. Why reach Greece, you ask? To defeat the giants and stop Gaia from waking, of course, all before the Feast of Spes when Gaia is scheduled to wake from her slumber. Nothing else needs to be said there. Meanwhile, Reyna, Nico and Coach Hedge are sky diving into Mount Vesuvius. They need to get to Camp Half-Blood to deliver the Athena Parthenos, as instructed by Athena.
As usual, the heroes fight crazy ghost people, Victory (you'll know what I mean soon enough), Percy's sister (isn't it always Percy's siblings), Orion, Lycaon, Mimas, etc ( its a long list). The heroes eventually reach Athens where they are to defeat the giants, where the giants hope to spill the blood of a male and female demigod- preferably Percy and Annabeth. Cue the fighting. Cue Annabeth's leg getting cut and "spilling [her] blood on the Ancient Stones". Cue Percy's nosebleed (you had to get a nosebleed Percy) and the waking of Gaia. The gods join the fight and defeat the giants. Now its up to the demigods to stop Gaia from destroying the two camps.
In the other side of the world, Reyna, Nico and Coach Hedge get to Camp Half-Blood on pegasi. The Romans start attack Camp Half-Blood even before the heroes arrive. Then Gaia wakes and comes to Camp Half-Blood. The seven demigods of the prophecy, who are slapped by Zeus all the way from Athens sends cheers among both the camps. The rest is based on how they defeat Gaia and Leo fulfilling his promise.
Awesome story. A really good ending. A must read for a PJO and HOO fan.
This book is about how Leo, Jason, Piper, Percy, Annabeth, Frank, Hazel, Nico and Reyna try to stop a war between camp Jupiter [romans] and camp half-blood [greeks]. At the same time, they have to stop Gaia from awakening.... Will she wake? Maybe.... maybe not..... but I can say that the book made me laugh and it was really interesting..... The part that I enjoyed the most was when Festus the dragon was a fifty-ton metal dragon again [all thanks to Leo] ......... But just one nosebleed made a huge change in the book [seriously Percy?!]......... I've been wanting to read this book for a very, incredibly long time. I really liked the way how funnily Rick described all the characters too !
One nosebleed is all it takes to cause Earth War 1!! If the fiction part was real, by now Ascelypius would have eradicated nose bleeds from the world. Overall amazing read, really good book it was just too easy to defeat Gaia and the giants at the end. You should even write one book in which it shows the peace after the war as all the book are violent an adventurous you should write a few peaceful books. Signing Off, Kevin Thomas
I really liked the book but it's definitely my least favourite of the heroes of Olympus books. Definitely a very subtle and plain ending...but you've got to love it. One very disappointing pint was that there were no Percy or Annabeth narratives and even the addition of Reyna and Nico narratives didn't quite make up for it. Other than that, the book was splendid!
Like all Rick Riordan books this one didnt disappoint. The story was awesome and the ending of the series was both epic and heart wrenching (in a good way). Moreover the quality of the book is pretty good. Pages are clean, font is good. All in all a great book by quality and afcourse content.
The first part was very interesting, I immediately brought another book. So the 2nd was little interesting. 3rd one wasn't. But I had to read as I wanted to complete the series. 4th was ok and this 5th one was "Finally it's over".
This is the final book by Rick in the series The Heroes of the Olympus.. I've been reading it since the first book The lost hero came out n den the others.. One book per year.. So basically ive been waitin too long for dis baby to come out.. Totally wrth the wait.. The gods are conflicted because of der multiple personality disorder and are hardly any help to our heroes.. Wanna see der crazy powers and amazing ways to solve problems and killing ugly huge Giants... Wid a tinge of romance.. Den click the buy button. U wont be dissapointed..
I am an avid fan of Percy Jackson's series. I liked the way adventures are presented in front of us. The language and vocabulary used is excellent. The story is very gripping . I didn't feel like putting it down unless I finished it.
