About the Author
Richard Grimmett and Carol and Tim Inskipp are widely respected as the leading experts on the birds of southern Asia. Their major work was the epic Birds of the Indian Subcontinent (Helm, 1998), from which has sprung several highly acclaimed field guides.
Deepal Warakadoda is Sri Lanka's leading field ornithologist. A tour leader, photographer and conservationist, Deepal made his name with his stunning 2002 discovery of the Serendib Scops Owl in Sri Lanka's Sinharaja Forest. This owl was a species completely new to science - the holy grail for any birdwatcher. VAUGHAN ASHBY - BIRDFINDERS
5.0 out of 5 stars
Essential field guide for Nepal
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 11 December 2016Verified Purchase
The first edition was the standard book to take with you to Nepal and I am pleased to say that the revised edition is even better! It is both bigger and better than the first edition especially with the addition of range maps. This revised edition is some 80 pages longer than the first one so whereas 8 species of phylloscopus warblers were squeezed onto one page in the original book, only 6 species are on a slightly larger page in the revised edition. My only quibble is that some of the names are confusing as for example, the pnoepyga Wren-babblers are now known as Cupwings by some authorities with Nepal Wren-babbler known as Immaculate Cupwing! Despite this however, this is the only book you need for a birdwatching trip to Nepal and is recommended to all the clients on our tours. Vaughan Ashby/Birdfinders

Guida da campo per il riconoscimento degli uccelli.
Reviewed in Italy 🇮🇹 on 4 September 2017Verified Purchase
Buona guida indispensabile sul campo per il riconoscimento degli uccelli. Buoni i disegni e buone le spiegazioni, cartine degli areali di nidificazione un po' limitati ma comunque utili. Peso non eccessivo e ingombro limitato.
