Exceptional Book! The reason is that this volume contains a wealth of information pertaining to the National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries situated within the areas of Bhutan and Eastern Himalayas! If you cross reference the material in this book with the authors' comprehensive volume of Birds of the Indian Subcontinent, then you will find that even the vagrant and non-resident species are also more than adequately defined and accurately distributed! I Corresponded with Carol Inskipp and She wrote back saying that She and the other two authors had extensively studied the ecology of the said area and then provided in-depth coverage so that visitors to the area be they birdwatchers, Ornithologists or tourists would face lesser obstacles and hence enjoy more time with the avifauna! The descriptions are very detailed and it's easier to identify the individual species as you encounter them in the field! Of all the books written by these authors, I Simply Love This One Particular Book!

Excellent guide

Super ouvrage!

This the best birding guide for any Asian country I have seen.
The distribution maps are outstanding. Outstanding color plates.
Field notes are brief but with dense information. There are also
chapters on ecology and the best birding areas. If you are touring
the Northeastern Himalayas this is the guide to take.
