He is living a successful professional life and at the same time he is blessed with a loving wife and an adorable son. So he is almost on the cloud nine.
The things in the life are not meant to be steady forever.
Once he went to deliver a speech and he met or we rather say encountered with Shreya, a young, intelligent and ambitious girl. The fate linked their lives in the professional world also and eventually she started working with him. Shreya wrote her first book while Aditya was working on his next and in order make her book - The BestSeller - Shreya follows a path which is dangerous and unexpected.
What happens later is better to explore in the book.
Views and Reviews:
The book follows the proven path for a thriller.
Ravi is good at building characters and shaping their actions, and it is evident in this book as well. The way the characters are build and the way they behave is completely believable. The characters are replica of the same from real life and thus have their own vulnerabilities, making them more authentic.
Also, the way, the psychology works, or people of certain attribute, behave in certain situations, is explored pretty nicely.
Ravi came up with some interesting lines in the book, like:
---- ---- ----
"Remember this success comes at a price. The price you pay for is your self-esteem."
"Aditya, irrespective of how big you become, it’s important to stay engaged with the media. "
"If we allow others to take advantage of us, we lose the right to cry when they do."
---- ---- ----
The inside politics of corporate world is portrayed effectively.
The book makes you think that: "The chase for achieving self targeted goal may often take you on the wrong path and you may become someone you don't like!"
The way Ravi took inspiration from real life characters and incident is quite visible throughout the book. I am avoiding references to keep the spoilers at the bay.
Remember though, that, this book have a lot of "adult only" material. Actually, as one such incident plays an important part in the story, it can be justified. But, it makes the book's target audience limited.
This book is like a Bollywood Masala Film. Good writing, realistically strong and vulnerable characters, good thrills and some "exclusive for adults material" is there in the book. If you love thrillers, you will enjoy reading.
Our rating: Around 7 of 10 stars.

It follows Shreya (an a*****e) and Adithya (A bestselling author with a midlife crisis and a rather high opinion of himself) through their relationship with one another and watch how something that started so “well” ends so badly. This book kinda feels like Fatal Attraction meets the typical Indian situation. Did I enjoy it? I did. Did I always enjoy it? Nope, I did not.
I agree with Shreya on one thing, the sex scenes were Thanda. I despise erotica of any kind and this kind of left me feeling awkward and uncomfortable. I wonder if i was the only one who felt that way. Looking at his author profile he seems more like a kindly uncle than someone capable of writing sex scenes so maybe that’s why I couldn’t get comfortable with that aspect or maybe I just hate erotic aspects in books. But moving on to more coherent thoughts.
BUT……. the book ended up going in the pace that was his forte. I enjoyed that we came back to the usual banking atmosphere and the usual corporate problems and etc. I wouldn’t say that this was his best work but it is certainly a good attempt for someone writing outside his genre. The only aspect I didn’t like is that Shreya is constantly made out to be the villain. She is NOT married. He is. Who’s responsibility is it to remain faithful? Certainly not hers. Of course she is a fan girl attracted to the man who occupies the space she wants in life. This seems like another pathetic attempt by men to not take responsibility for their actions and to constantly blame the girl, ruin her life and walk away unscathed.
That need to read till the end and figure out the answers is well generated in this book as well. Though, overall I would rate this book a bit lower than the initial ones as the story was not as powerful. The character development is good which keeps the reader engaged but it can only take you so far. Read it once for a different story.
