I'm totally satisfied for the fast delivery of the gift voucher. The option where we can schedule the delivery date is good, hence we can easily schedule some important occasions and these vouchers will be sent on time. 5stars for this feature!
3.0 out of 5 starsThe concept is good but implementation is poor

The concept of gift cards is good... But no proper way to track... Where the recipient has got it... Option for the recipient to send a thank you note Hope Amazon team would bring in more perasuve technology into play
Amazon email gift cards are most convenient way for gifting someone at any occasion. I have gifted and received many amazon gift cards.
How it works: Simply enter the email address of recipient and choose the theme of your gift card matching with occasion, enter the amount and pay via any electronic paymentmethod like UPI, debit card, net banking etc. The recipient will recieve a mail on his/her email address, after that he/she just need to copy the gift card code and go to amazon pay balance add money and enter the code, and amazon pay balance will be credited to the account.
Why it is best: We don't know that what is the need a person, when we gift an amazon gift card to a person, he can purchase anything of his choice, he can recharge his mobile, pay his bills and many more.
Update: Nov 2015: I have now tried it a few more times and it has worked flawlessly for me. Restoring another star. :-)
Update: I waited for 24 hours and the balance was credited back to my account. I placed the order again and it went smoothly this time. It must have been a technical glitch the first time around.
I recently bought an email amazon.in gift card thinking that if I have gift card balance in my account, payments would be more convenient.
I thought that a Gift card based payment can never fail (since the money is already with Amazon) but to my surprise it does! And when it does!, you cannot even retry using the Gift card again. You are forced to choose another paymentmethod.
Unfortunately, the (generally great) Amazon customer service does not appear to have answers on this.
I ordered this card and "gifted" it to myself. I got it by email and on pressing a link in it, it automatically got linked to my Amazon account. Thereafter on checkout it acted as a default paymentmethod. Therefore it is actually a type of Amazon wallet or can be made to work like one, with the added benefit that you can also give it as a gift card to anybody with email address.
