You need to buy a external power shoket adapter because company gives 16amp socket .
Next was the newly released Dell S2421HN, the refresh rate was 75Hz and 8-bit native colour depth also the monitor looked sleek and stylish. This was a viable option at 11K, but then I stumbled upon the BENQ EW2480, it had the same 8-bit native panel and 75Hz refresh rate but there were some other features also such as HDRi, Auto-Brightness mode and an e-paper mode. So my major motivation to spend an additional 2K (compared to Dell S2421HN) was HDR and e-paper mode. I'll talk about them one by one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HDRi:
Here you get an emulated HDR mode and a CinemaHDR mode. First of all, when I tried out HDR it was not good, I mean it just enhanced the blacks and looked unrealistic (It was because I enabled HDR via the monitor's menu, you'll need to enable it both in Windows and in monitor's menu). After a bit of research, I found out that my Windows laptop ( i5-7200U) won't support HDR ( I don't remember the exact reason but it was that my inbuilt display supported HDR streaming but the monitor won't support it because it was a motherboard issue, i.e. some type of hardware or protocol is required in the motherboard itself). So, be ultimately sure before buying. It does work on PS4 and XBOX.
Now interestingly, when viewing an SDR video the HDR feature would make it worse. But when I would watch an HDR content (on VLC of course), using the HDR feature really did gave some enhancement and colour boost. I liked it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Auto-Brightness (B.I.+):
The monitor has a sensor at the bottom that auto-adjusts the monitor brightness according to the environment. I must admit that it actually works really well. Although in complete darkness(when no light is ON) I'll have to manually decrease brightness but other than that it works great.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
e-paper mode:
Honestly, it is a plain and simple black and white mode. It's good for keeping you distraction-free, but I prefer the low-blue light mode better.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now I did not consider the speaker's quality while buying any monitor as I have an external speaker. But the speakers on this Benq EW2480 are significantly loud, it's louder than my laptop's inbuilt ones. Although it lacks bass, but the volume is more than enough for day to day tasks.
Also, it has an "eye-reminder" mode; i.e. it'll give you a notification at every 30/45/60 minutes to take a break from continuous screen viewing. Useful for people who work a whole day on their monitors.
Next Benq supports HDCP 2.2, while dell only supports HDCP 1.4; this may be useful for some content creators out there.
Also, this monitor has a heavy and sturdy aluminium base. So it stays still and strong doesn't shake like some plastic body monitor stands.

I am currently using it and I could not be happier. There are a few things such as the HDRi which does not work that well and I barely use it (Only in The Division 2). The refresh rate is good and there is no ghosting. I use it for mainly Rainbow Six Siege, and other games such as Assassin's Creed. One thing to take into account it is that there is some black light bleeding at the corner. Have I notice? Yes. Does it bother me? Not at all.
The build of the monitor is great, solid. This is one of the best good looking monitors I have seen, even more impressive coming from BenQ.
For this price it the best monitor out there you can find. If you are looking for something cheap and stable get this.

The volume is not huge but it is OK for conference calls as I sit in front of it.
It would be nice if the stand was height adjustable but not a huge issue for me.
If you are mostly editing spreadsheets and documents 24" is the max screen you can see without turning your head left to right. I have tried a 27" screen and I found it too big for this sort of work.
According to some pro reviews this monitor is good for your eyes. I have been staring at it for a while and no red eyes or strain on the eyes although I wear reading glasses that soon need replacing.need

Assasins creed, red dead II and modern warfare also worked in hdr mode (so hdr gaming runs fine), and you can tell the difference. Gran tourismo was stunning, got to love those replays . Speakers peform better than expected for such low wattage, if I want loud I have amps/headphones.
My nephew tried it and now he wants one.

perfect size for what i was looking for
i was very happy with the price, was expecting to spend more on a good monitor with speakers so this was spot on for me
not sure i have any strong negatives - one criticism is the point the power cable goes into the monitor it doesnt go all way (bit of silver is exposed) not had any problems though. maybe i should give it some force to get it in all the way but i dont want to damage anything and its really nbd
