The Barska adapter is PERFECT. It is ALL METAL, the SCREW HEAD is LARGE and coated with RUBBER. The adapter is nice and tight when it is attached to my Celestron 25x70 binoculars. So much so, there is no shifting or wobbling at the point of contact as there was with the Celestron Adapter.
After inspecting the tripod adapter it really seems to be made with as one person said in his review "pot metal". The underside has a rubber pad seated within a countersunk area of the base and its flush so that it will not scratch the tripod attachment surface. If dealt a severe blow with a hammer or something similar across the shaft it will snap and not bend.
The full length from the bottom of the base to the top of the knob that tightens to the binoculars is exactly 4 1/8 inch long.
The thickness at its thinnest point along the shaft is 5/16 inch and 1/2 inch at its thickest close to the base.
The width of the shaft at the top is 7/8 inch going down to the bottom it widens to 1 1/4 inch.
The base is 1/4 inch thick and triangular, at its widest on the base 1 1/4 inch and narrowest 3/4 inch.
If you were to measure from the bottom of the base to the top of the screw its exactly 3 7/8 inch vertical.
The knob is 3/4 inch thick and 3/4 inch long. The screw is 1/4 - 20 thread
The hole to screw the adapter onto the tripod is 1 inch deep and 1/4 - 20 thread. I took a toothpick and measured it to determine the depth of the threaded hole.
The extended thread on the knob to attach the tripod adapter to a binoculars is exactly 1/4 inch long.
When attached to the Celestron 15x70 Binoculars its very strong and firm.
All in all its a great buy for me. Its definitely stronger than the tripod adapter supplied with the 15x70 Binoculars. Take a look at the images I've uploaded.

Extremely handy and portable
All of the above is true.
This my 2nd Barska, both capable of handling big astro-binoculars and a respectably sized DSLR with telephoto.
Compatible with my Quick Release gadget, uses standard 1/4x20 attachment bolts.
You may need to super-tighten the 1/4" engaging bolt to your binoculars or cameras, tends to tilt otherwise.
It is indeed all metal (except for the screw knob to attach it to the binoculars. For the price it seems to be very well made. It attached easily to my old tripod and was _much_ better than what came from Celestron. The larger knob was much easier to grasp and turn to attach the adapter to the binoculars and they held the binoculars steady without any wobble. What motion you do have, however, is the tilt (yaw) of the binoculars which is not a problem as it does allow you to angle them to suit your needs. I also attached it to my new monopod and it was perfect for what I wish to use it for. I am very happy with this purchase.
