Regarding application, as with other reviews you have to work your technique to get it to apply just right. It's not like a lotion or liquid foundation that you can just go to town applying with all four fingers in an erratic manner applying all over your face at once. I've tried that - doesn't work. With this method the primer clumps up and rolls on itself instead of sticking to your face. I've tried the tapping with ring finger as other reviews suggested - doesn't work either. I found with this method too much was applied to areas causing it to turn white and flaky. What has consistently worked for me is apply with one or two fingers in VERY small areas of the face at a time with VERY small amounts of primer. I'm talking like a quarter amount of a pea. I start with the center of my forehead spread with one or two fingers until thin and smooth. Then on the left and right side of my forehead separately (I have a large forehead, unfortunately.) Then my nose, either side of my cheeks, separately. Center of my chin then either side of my mouth, separately. If you notice any build-up on your finger wipe it off with a tissue before dispensing another small amount of primer and applying. I do this about 3 times at least to ensure a clean finger is applying the product. You also want to ensure that the primer is fully dried before applying make up. After application I usually brush my teeth and gargle with mouthwash and then it's ready for make up. It took a little getting used to but once you get the hang of it the results are amazing. And since you really don't need much at all for each application this will last quite a while which make splurging on the price will be worth it in the end. I couldn't be happier.
So, I guess I'm saying, if you're really oily like me, don't expect a miracle mattifier... but this product is totally worth the money, because it will make your makeup look great and solve many of the makeup problems that oily skin creates. It's just that if your skin is like mine, you will still get shiny.
Theres NO fragrance or smell. Its a powdery gel form and easy to apply. You will need to get the hang of it. If you apply too much in one area, it will cause your makeup to flake off.
Instead, apply a thin layer and let it dry fully before putting on your makeup. That way, if you see any amounts of "white" on your skin, it means theres too much buildup in that area. Just use a qtip to gently wipe off the excess and go about your routine.
Ive been able to use this product all over my face with no problems (excluding my eye area). Im also using a water based foundation, and moisturizing my skin prior to the primer step.
Also, Ive purchased this same exact product from Sephora (both in store and online), theres no seal to the end of the component. I dont think there ever has been.
Also, theres always a ton of air inside the tube. Its always been that way. However, Ive noticed if it stays in a hot temperature for too long, it puffs up even more.
Overall, if you have oily skin, and are tired of looking like a grease trap. Buy this.
