Yes, the author has made a lot of spelling errors in this book, and that is regrettable. I am glad I only paid $.99 for it (I would have been appalled if I had paid $13 for it); authors trying to sell books have a duty to make their language clear. Along with that, there are no illustrations to clarify explanations, and that is difficult to overcome with a technical manual.
That being said, the author outlines everything you need to start programming with Arduino, just as promised.
I have never used Arduino before, so I new almost nothing about it. Even though I knew Arduino somehow mixed electronics with computers and programming, I didn't know Arduino was a language based on C++, that you program on a computer as an interface, and that you transfer those programs to an EEPROM on the Arduino board. Now I do.
The author goes into just the right amount of detail on how to download the IDE, hook up the board, find the right ports, find the right programs, etc. to make the points clearly, but not to the point of losing the audience in superfluous details or tangents.
It appears that the author is, either, not a native English speaker, and/or he is not a professional author. Despite those hurdles, however, he HAS done a fine job in delivering a beginners manual for Arduino.
This book is a great first step.

The book in itself is ok but there are a lot of spelling errors in chapter 9 and 10. There is 2 projects in this book. The first one seems complete but the 2nd one in chapter 10 tells you what parts your going to need. The parts list does not have the values of the potentiometer or the value of the resistor to use. There by making the project useless. This book is aimed at the beginner so I would think a proof reader should have been used to make sure there are no mistakes or omissions.
