These birds get bored and lonely so taking them along while keeping them safe is great for their busy minds.
I added a fabric "comfort perch" but kept the supplied perch to use in front of the food dishes.
Seller was excellent.
Congo Greys are probably as large a parrot as you would want to use this sized cage for (the "small" Kings Cage travel carrier). The bar spacing is good and close enough that you can keep most small birds securely inside. The full end door is ideal for access, and the integrated and secure food dish doors are excellent. I have heard of only one CAG that has destroyed the plastic dish, but this is indeed very rare and unlikely with most parrots. The dishes are pretty tough and only the most aggressive or determined parrot is going to bother wrecking his food dishes. The dishes are securely attached to the door and not possible to remove from the inside once attached, closed and latched into place. When using the cage without the dishes the dish hatchways are very secure and do not leave anything easy to destroy accessible to the bird enclosed at the time. :) Definitely worth the cost, as this will last the life of your bird.
BTW, do your parrot a favour and buy a rope perch for this cage instead of a wood or plastic one. It makes it easier for the bird to hang on when you are carrying it or using it as a 'car seat.' ;)
Over the last month, I have communicated with Kings Cages many times by phone and email. They did send me 3 new plastic door locks but are not able to offer any reasonable long term solution. They even sent me a video of how to change the plastic cage door locks with a person’s voice saying “we don't have it anymore”.
As a veterinarian, these cages are not secure with broken feeder door locks. Please save your money and get a cage without plastic door locks that will be secure for your bird! I have used Kings Cages powder coated cages for over a decade but these cages are a huge disappointment. They advertise excellent customer service but my customer service experience with Kings Cages has been poor because they are slow to respond and do not answer my questions. Save yourself the frustration!
