I know some people don't like the shiny plastic and I myself confess I am a little worried about scratches, but after using it and holding it my hand, I can tell you, its an extremely sterdy case and very well made. It definitely will not be wearing out anytime soon. Also, although it adds a little bulk, it fits really well in pants pockets or jacket pockets and when you bring it out to use the phone, it adds to the phone's looks by covering it with its own good looks.
All the buttons are very easily reached and I am pretty sure that if the phone did fall in the case, it would be extremely protected.
It took me years to find a phone that felt good for me and even longer to find a case for it that felt right as well. I finally found both and will definitely be purchasing another myCharge if I did need another case. I think anyone reading this should try it and they will be sold whole heartedly. The closest thing I can compare it to is a mili powerspring, but that was much, much bulkier. This is just a smaller powerspring with better looks and battery life.
As for the myCharge, it is by far and away the best I have used, very easy to flip the top open to insert the phone, (no more trying to force it into a rubber case) close the top and it's very nice, easy to use, sturdy, and the Mini USB port is solid. I also have a leather rotating holder which will clip to my belt (for the ladies, belt, pocket, or clip to purse) with a magnetic closer. I was afraid it would not fit, as the phone is a close fit, that fear was soon dispelled, it fit just fine, and not tight. If you are taking a trip, purchase a USB 2.0 to a Mini USB, (or a mini USB to auxiliary port in your automobile) it will plug into my USB port on my 7" Radio/CD-DVD Player/GPS, and while charging the hands free Blue-tooth works as well. Before there were laws about talking/texting while driving has never been a problem for me, simply due to the fact I never used a phone will driving, but hands free and voice control is the only way for me personally. The other reviewer who had also tried many other cases, I too was concerned with the case being very shiny, only to find out it does not scratch easily. My wife dropped my phone with the new case onto a ceramic floor while distracted, there was NO damage to the phone or the case, and only a barely a scratch where it landed (the back corner of the case, therefore not even noticeable), at first I thought the case would be cracked or have a broken screen. I will buy another if needed. My wife really enjoys hers after she saw all the extra talk time.
Back to the Energizer charging case, I went with that one due to name recognition and good batteries. Their case was made of soft nitrile rubber, therefore the mini USB port is also embedded in the rubber. From day one, it was a pain just to get it in the correct position so it would begin charging. Being one to always be sure on treating electronics with care. One afternoon, I inserted the mini USB cord into the case, could not get it to work in any position, upon gently removed the cord, and prepared to return the case (for money back, didn't want another). Upon buying the unit, I noticed the mini USB adapter in the case was no longer there. I found it still attached to the cord...DO NOT BUY the ENERGIZER charging case for your iPhone 4/4S.
Again not the best case, but it did it's job for the most part.
