5.0 out of 5 stars A very nice case + stand for iPhone 4S 18 January 2012

I have this blue case paired with my black iPhone 4S (Verizon). I love the color combination. I also use a Halo Screen Protector Film Clear (Invisible) for iPhone 4G 4S 4 (3 Pack + 3 Bonus Back Films) to protect the screen (and back) of my iPhone. I use the stand feature often enough: I stand the iPhone up vertical most of the time (it's great for Facetime), and I stand it horizontal when I am charging, or if I am watching Netflix on my phone. It looks so nice that my wife wanted one, too. So I got the white case for her white iPhone 4S, and it looks great on her phone though it gets dirty easier (or at least it looks like it).

This case gives plenty of room to access the volume buttons and ring/silent toggle on the side, the 3.5mm stereo headphone minijack and on/off button on top, 30-pin dock connector and speakers at the bottom. Also, there are no issues with the camera and flash on the back, which have been reported by those who use the iPhone 4 case with an iPhone 4S phone.

It protects most of the phone well enough, but maybe not as good as the Element Case or Otterbox Case, which are a lot bulkier (to offer greater protection). The only vulnerable area would be the screen. Depending on the day, the phone (or parts of the front) sticks above the protective sides and is therefore not as protected as the rest of the phone. However, I bought this case specifically for the stand feature, and I do not mind that the face is flush with the sides. In addition, I carry this phone in a leather belt holster, which fits the phone+case perfectly! I don't think my holster will accommodate an Otterbox case. i-BLASON could have made the sides 1-2mm higher. This would solve what some reviewers are complaining about, and I understand how others may be disappointed with this. For me, I like the flush cut.

The material has some "grip" action that it doesn't slide easily on a glass surface, yet is easy enough to get in and out of my pocket or holster.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with this case. Highly recommended. Truly deserves a 5-star rating.

UPDATE 2012-02-09: My wife has complained that when she takes pictures with the flash, the picture looks "pale" due to the flash reflection/bounce from the cutout edge around the lens+flash area. The washout effect seems to be more significant with her white iPhone + white case, as compared to my black iPhone + blue case. Because I rarely use the camera in low light (I have a prosumer Nikon DSLR for this), it was not a major issue for me. The root of this problem is that the case backing is considerably thicker than the rest of the case (in order to accommodate the built-in stand feature) so it is causing the flash to bounce off the edge. I will try to contact i-Blason regarding this issue. For me, I got the case for its stand feature and use the stand most of the time, and I will stay with the 5-star rating... for now. I rarely use the camera, and if I do it is usually in the daytime. If I need to take pictures in low-light conditions, I will just take the camera out of the case (it's not difficult). However, i-Blason does need to acknowledge that this problem exists and may want to consider either thinning out the area around the flash a tad, increasing the slope angle, or opening up the cutout area. My two cents.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice 12 March 2012

I am using this case for past 5 months. This is very nice and I am very satisfied. Worth buy and value for your money. It has sturdy support for keeping iPhone vertical and horizontal. I like the design, as mentioned its award winning. The look and fill is very nice, No problem with attaching my earphone, charger, easy access to volume and camera buttons. The most worthy feature is its ability to stand horizontal and vertical way, and makes life easy. The support pin is very sturdy, easy to move, fits nicely when closed and gives great look for your iPhone. Accidentally I dropped my iPhone with stand open, and the stand is slightly off the edge. But still there is no problem keeping my phone standing. I expect any other stand to be broken after this impact, but this one stands best. I recommend this one. Spend once to buy good product, just like your iPhone. I have seen my friends spending money on cheaper cases that ruined after few weeks, does not fit, or gives problem with accessory attachments. This one works best with no problem. Highly Recommended!
5.0 out of 5 stars 2nd purchase 11 May 2013

I liked the little stand up feature. I use it when I'm facetiming with people. I like to prop my phone up most of the time if I'm using it to listen to a podcast, using phone as my alarm clock, when I'm walking the dog and don't have a pocket I just loop my finger through the stand along with my key and go (since I don't like having the phone next to any part of my body) I liked it so much that I bought a 2nd one for my husband. He seems to enjoy using it also. They hold up well so far and still add that little bit of protection for the phone.

1.0 out of 5 stars Would not suggest buying this case for a 4S. 30 October 2011

After arriving 2 days late, the case was on my phone for all of about 5 minutes before my old one went back on. To be fair I really liked the look of the case for those 5 minutes, but here's why it didn't last:

- First thing I noticed is that the lip didn't fully cover the front plate of glass. At it's best it looked flush with the front edge of the phone but even then I was concerned that a face first fall would shatter the front glass. My iphone guru of a roommate told me that this is exactly what happened to her phone the first time she dropped it when she had a similar issue with a case. When it's not at it's best, for instance - if I press hard on the home button, the opposite end of the phone pops up above the edge of the case, leaving it exposed. If I push down on the exposed side to try to push it back in, the opposite side pops up - making it a balancing game to have the phone appear to be flush and in the case.

- I was almost ready to deal with this case issue for a short amount of time, but then I remembered one negative review I had read on this site. The review stated that the case caused a problem with the camera's flash, reflecting it and making the pictures white/blurry. I took a couple of comparison pictures with and without the case and the difference was ridiculous.

I didn't expect or seek out a refund and didn't want a replacement so I took some power tools to it and essentially made it in to an iphone easel where I can sit my phone on it (in a functional case), and have it stand up via the kickstand. I wouldn't recommend this as a cost effective way for an iphone stand. Hope this review helps.

after one week the white case start to change to yellow on the edge, both cases white and black after one week start to cause problem on the camera when use the flash, it turns a grey shadow around the pictures, we went into an apple store and they discover that the grey shadow was caused by the case, very bad product, the worst gadget i ever bought. DO NOT BUY IT!
