*rating is for the particular copy, not about the book! around 20 unprinted blank pages in the book in around middle. Book is ok, a starting point to behavioral traits from Indian perspective.

Hi, This is one more gem coming from Parag Parikh of PPFAS. What I liked about this book is the formula of total
returns which comes from fundamental (EPS growth) and speculative growth (PE Expansion). Another thing which
I liked is the contrarian way of investing which generates 7% more returns than the conventional way of investing.
This philosophy is also talked about in later chapters as De-indexing. If you really wish to learn about value investing
and not chasing the growth stocks (fancies and fads) then you must read this book. A must have for all investors
investing in Indian Stock markets.

Not a good book . Not even a single clear example . Always keeps using the same terms .
Doesn't clearly explain what valuation is with example.

This is one of the must read book for Indian investors, Parag Parikh has covered the Behavioural Finance topics so very well in this book that you will be amazed to know and learn about it. From IPO to PSU and from Growth to Bubble trap this book covers most of the behavioural trees from investor perspective and what more you get great examples all from Indian stock Market.

What the Author has done has studied great scholars like Daniel Kahneman, Warren Buffet, Nassim Taleb, Charles Munger, Richard Thaler and Jeremy Siegel and great others.... and tried to capture their experience and knowledge in this book relating to stock markets with some great ground research and experience and his own.

I would highly recommend this book as it really gives you more insights To Indian Stock Markets and add to you great information on Public Sector Units which I have never read in any other book by International Authors as its somewhat unique to India or developing nations? Along with it its the Author has the right pace and continuity for this book which make it good to read

This is perhaps the best book on investing set in the indian context. The various examples of indian companies greatly help in understanding the matter which has been presented in a lucid form.

If you are thinking, or have invested either in equity or mutual funds in the indian markets, then do not even think about it, JUST BUY THIS BOOK. It will more or less make up for itself in the form of returns you get. You will be much more critical of the "experts" you see on TV and in the newspapers touting crappy companies as the next best investment and expecting sheeple to take their word as gospel.

Cons:
The book has not been updated after 2008. This makes it miss the 2008 financial crisis which taught a lot of lessons to a lot of people. It will be interesting to hear the views of the author on this topic. So this book needs a new edition!!

Also, there is no mention of FIIs who in the recent years have starting hold substantial stake in the indian equity markets. It would again be interesting in knowing the authors views on the hot money that comes into emerging markets like india and wreak havoc when the tide turns.

Overall definitely a must read!!!
