An Open and Honest Book on "Success" (A New Napolean Hill?) 22 June 2011
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I have read the first two chapters of this book and could not wait to share what I thought about it with you. It is outstanding thus far. Of all the 'success' theme books I've read, this is the first one that comes close to dealing with the topic "Work" in a open and honest way. It is an outstanding read and I highly recommend it. ...I think you will enjoy it as much as I have. Here is a quote from it:

"Know that hard work is going to pay off. It may not pay off today, but the longer you stick with something the more it pays off. You just have to put time in on the treadmill and trust that it is going to make a difference." - Kate Laidley vice president, JN4D

Well, I've now finished the book. If you are starting out, starting over, or just simply overwhelmed...and wondering just what do I do,,,this is a must read for you. I did not realize just how much I needed to read it until I finished it. This book is powerful, straightforward, and nothing more, nothing less, than a contemporary "Think and Grow Rich", and then some. I really think than even Napoleon Hill would praise, buy, read, and recommend it for anyone interested in a "Success Philosophy". Can you tell, I really like this book. Now, to read it, with laptop and notepad at hand. Happy Reading!

What if you had 500 of successful people teaching you how to success? This is what this book does. Richard St John did a great job researching and organizing tons of valuable information presented in a simple yet powerful way.
This book is a huge inspiration to me and I review all 8 traits on a daily basis to evaluate what i got to success.
Read this and be great too!

The Success Book to end all Success Books 22 April 2013
By Jeremey Donovan - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Imagine that you had access to the most successful people on the planet. Now imagine that you could not only interview them but also distill their wisdom into an immediately actionable set of advice. That is precisely what Richard St. John has done in this stellar book.

I came across Richard St. John after being one of the ten million other people to view his inspiring three-minute TED Talk. I purchased this book because I wanted to go deeper. You can hear Richard's voice as you read this book since it carries his same humorous, content-rich tone.

His TED Talk details the 8 traits that successful people have in common. Here are those traits with a few of the deeper nuggets that I found relevant:

1. Passion
-> Get out there and explore many paths
-> Pursue your passion, not money and fame
2. Work
-> Success does not come easy
-> We overvalue talent and undervalue hard work
3. Focus
-> Spend an intense amount of time focused on the one activity you really love
-> Worry about your interest, not your ability
4. Push
-> If you have self-doubt, you are not alone
-> Don't get too comfortable
5. Ideas
-> Make mental connection between diverse things
-> The best way to have a great idea is to have a lot of ideas
6. Improve
-> Practice to constantly improve yourself and what you do
-> Meet the minimum standards on your weaknesses and move on
7. Serve
-> Ask, "Who do you serve?" and "What value do you serve them?"
-> Listen to others and serve them something they appreciate
8. Persist
-> To succeed a lot, it helps to fail a lot
-> Being criticized is a sign you are on your way to success

This is a book that you will want to read slowly. It is jam packed with how-to tips and ideas that you need to deeply contemplate. Buy this book, keep your highlighter handy, and enjoy!

One of a kind! 19 March 2012
By Mack - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book is by far one of...if not THE best book on success I've read yet. And trust me: I've just about read them all. This book tells you the stuff you don't read in the other books. It's honest, and extremely helpful. I've read the book close to 7 or 8 times now cover to cover.

It's one of those books where you can start reading anywhere and you'll instantly find something helpful to take with you on your journey. I'm hoping he comes out with more books in the future. Youtube videos are good too.

Absolutely excellent!

A must read ! 7 October 2013
By Anthony - Published on Amazon.com

I just finished reading this book, and it is fantastic. It does a great job of laying out the (real) pathways to achieving success. It's a valuable resource to everyone who reads it and I have given several copies to friends and family. An excellent reminder of what it takes to succeed. The author should be very proud of this book. Well done !
