1.0 out of 5 stars Room for improvements 5 April 2016

I can no longer recommend these types of cables as they charge at a fraction of the speed of a quality non magnetic cable. I also found that you can't reliably use them as sync cables.

I've reviewed three of these magnetic type cables and I have a feeling this is going to be my second favorite, first might be Foxpic but I still need to receive this device. I have three issues with this cable:

1) the adapter that goes into your device is made of plastic and if it's broke you'd be in big trouble. It's also gold and white which doesn't really match my device.
2) the leds are quite bright and it would be really nice if they just didn't drill the holes for it and let it bleed out the bottom as it does by accident I assume instead which is much more diffused
3) the operation seems to work fine and it charges fast but I think the length of the magnetic end makes it easier to knock it out of connection because of the ability to get leverage on it, a stronger or larger magnet might also help this.

One also really like the nylon material on the cable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, deff recomend buying extra 2 plugs if you have more than one device, really makes the product. 9 June 2016

Iv actually used a couple magnetic chargers like this and have really been able to see the pros and cons of these magnetic cables, first off the sweetLF magnetic charger has a stronger magnet than others but not as strong as they make it seem it does not pull the plug out of yor phone with just the strength of the magnet, meaning you could trip on the cord and it's going to disconnect rather than send your phone flying, which I really appreciate having 2 kids running around. Iv read other reviews saying the led light is too bright? Not in my opinion and nothing a piece of tape wouldn't fix, iv also heard reviews saying their phone or device didn't charge as fast? Also didn't have this problem. I have a Iphone6 and an iPad mini so I also got the extra 2 plugs so I could easily switch back and forth between devices which I'm glad I did cause it really makes the product plus I have a spare plug if I do happen to lose one but I don't think I will it's in there pretty good. Overall I think it's a great product and really is what it says it is and nothing more

I got this product because my last iphone would no longer charge-the connector internals on the phone had failed. I received the product and installed on my new phone. My first impression was that there was a fitment issue with the plug and my spigen tough armor phone case-I had tried to install it without removing the phone from the case. On the second install, without the case, the connector fit perfectly. I did re-install the case, and there was a small bulge on the screen side of the case where the connector was installed. Please keep in mind that my case is over a year old, and I had previously sanded down the charger port area as it was a bit sharp and bothered my hands when gaming.

The cable that came with the connector looks nice. It is braided and the color is silver. there is an attached silicone cable tie affixed to it which is neat. the connector connects to the plug, and is not biased (will attach to the plug in either direction). there is a blue LED on each side of the magnetic connector that lights up when the phone is charging.

Initial perceived cons: The magnet is a bit weak and does not take much force to remove. It is strong enough to drag the phone across the table without breaking the connection. The connection will immediately break if the cable is pulled with a force that is not parallel with the flat side of the phone. I feel that the magnet could be a bit stronger.

Second con, and this is solely my personal opinion. I think that the magnetic end should simply be a plug that can connect to a lightning/micro USB connector, and not come with a cable. This is purely because it renders the 20 something other non-magnetic cables virtually useless to me.

Final thoughts:

I will most likely be buying several more of these over the next few weeks.

Update 4.10.2016

This product is still functioning well, but there are some issues that are bothersome to me. First off, like everyone else states, the magnet is weak. It is not easy to use your phone and charge at the same time. Second, the plug that goes into the phone itself is magnetized, and this may not be an issue for most people, but since I work as a maintenance tech, and I am around dirt and debris, the ferrous debris likes to collect around the connector. This is not that big of an issue, but it is annoying to me. Also, I would like to see one of these with the device plug colored to match my phone (space gray iPhone).

Update 5.1.2016: I originally bought 2 wires/2 connectors to use on my iPhone/iPad. I kept 1 cord plugged in at home, and the other was packed away in my backpack to use at work or when I was out and about. Today the cord that I keep plugged in at home no longer works. when it makes connection, I get a message saying that it is "not a certified cable". My phone and iPad will no longer take a charge from this cable. I swapped the one from my backpack for now, so all is good.

I also want to talk more about the weak magnetic connector. I have found that this will not at all work if you place your device at the edge of a table (night stand) and have the cord draped over the side. The weight of the cable itself is enough to break the magnetic connection. It works best if there is at least 4-6" of flat space parallel to the charging port that the cord can lay on. If you don't have this, you're gonna have a bad time.

Update on the male connector issue (collects ferrous debris). I have to routinely clean the "crap" off the connector-about once a week. Keep in mind that work industrial maintenance, so I am exposed to a metric butt-load of dirt and debris. If I do not clean the debris off the connector about once a week, it WILL build up until the point is reached where the cable will no longer make a connection, and you will have a bad time.

I am going to copy and paste in the other product that I bought. OK this is a great concept, no fumbling in the dark at to where that stupid slot is to connect my charger. Once you insert the tiny piece, life is grand. You may have to wiggle it in but don't force it in. I spoke with the service department, they responded fast. My MicroUSB one was a little more difficult to get in, but make sure you push the device all the way in or you won't get the charging correct. That was more user error.
This is why I cannot give 5 starts: 1. For the love of all that is holy, why would you make the exact same product that connects identically but not be able to interchange with S7 or Apple. That is just not correct. The other issue is the LED is flipping bright. And going to find out if the strobing light I am trying to find out if glitch or supposed to let me know something. Stay tuned

1.0 out of 5 stars Like the concept, but got two bad ones, waiting for the third. 22 July 2016

First cable I got worked one way but when plug is reversed it didn't work. Plug got uncomfortably hot after a minute. Returned as defective. Second one I got didn't work at all, iPad complained that "The accessory may not be supported". Didn't work either way I plugged it in. The Plug got uncomfortably hot after less than 30 seconds. Wasn't going to test if it was going to catch on fire!

I like the concept, but it seems like this may be a bad batch!
