5.0 out of 5 stars Love this case... 22 January 2015

Amazing case. Tons of room for my build, and future upgrades. This thing is beautiful. Great cable management, as there should be because this case is HUGE... Definitely recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars All Hail the Monolith 28 April 2015
By Thomas - Published on Amazon.com
Colour: Matte black Verified Purchase
First off, this thing is a beast in size. Pay attention to the dimensions and be prepared for how big this thing is going to be.

That said there is a ton of room inside this thing for anything you'd want to do. My internal temperatures dropped a good 10 degrees Celsius over my old case after installing everything.

Stock fans are good, and the fan control is very helpful. I have 2 gtx 980's and an OC'd fx-8350 and everything stays at or below 60 degrees with the fans set to Medium. At that setting you can barely tell the PC is running. High is louder but cooler, and low is virtually silent, but doesn't give me quite the cooling I'm happy with.

Construction of this case is very solid. Almost everything is made of steel. However, that does mean it's very heavy, but nothing is liable to break. Even the plastic parts are solidly constructed.

I have seen people complaining about the front and top plates coming off with too much difficulty. Honestly, I don't agree. They're solidly attached, yes, but just find the points where it's attached, slip a flat head screwdriver in between the case and the plastic and lift gently. Came right off without marring the plastic at all.

I do, however, agree that the dust filters could have been better designed. You need to remove the front and top plate to get any all of them except the bottom one (which, btw, slides out for, like, no reason), and the top ones are dependent on using 200mm fans, so if you use 140's or 120, you can't use the top dust filters.

Other than that, however, this is a phenomenal case that I would definitely buy again. Just make sure you have space for it, as this thing is a bit of the monolith.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect monster of a case. 1 December 2015
By Greg - Published on Amazon.com
Colour: Gunmetal Verified Purchase
This case is a marvel of engineering. The only quibble I could possibly come up with is the price, which is exorbitant. However, the fact that this case has such a crazy amount of room, high build quality, and intelligent quality of life design decisions means that I doubt I will be replacing it in the next 20 years. It is that good.

If you want a budget build, you need to look elsewhere. If you are a PC enthusiast who wants to be expanding their PC next decade, this will be a worthwhile investment. I love this case.

P.S. This thing is HUGE! Read the dimensions and be prepared. A big case means a ton of room for parts and cable management and no squeezing your fingers into tight spaces, but it also means it might not fit under your desk! Big and heavy. If you need a mobile, compact case, do not buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Case! 26 March 2016
By BFF - Published on Amazon.com
Colour: Glossy white Verified Purchase
This an excellent case. At first I wasn't sure about a white case, but now that I have it, I love it. Several of my friends have told me that it looks awesome. One even asked me for the exact specifications so the he could get one too. This is a well thought out case with tons of flexibility. The only very minor gripe I have with the case is that if you need to remove the front panel after you've installed an optical drive, you'll have to take the drive back out to remove the front panel (not at all hard to do with the snap-in locking system). This case offers great cable management, with generous space behind the motherboard. One of the cleanest looking builds I have ever pulled off.

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect for my needs 18 October 2014
By W.A.H. - Published on Amazon.com
Colour: Matte black Verified Purchase
This Nzxt case replaced an old Corsair Obsidian 800D case that I "wore out" after many, many changes and upgrades over the past few years. My beef with the Corsair Obsidian 800D case was I wanted to upgrade it from its original four USB 2.0 ports to two USB 2.0 ports and two USB 3.0 ports via Corsair's front panel I/O ports option. What I expected with Corsair's "CC800D-USB3KIT Front Panel USB 3.0 Upgrade Kit" was the kits two USB 3.0 ports would connect to my Intel X79 chipset based motherboard via a 19-pin cable/connector on the kit that would connect to a 19-pin USB 3.0 connector on the motherboard. But the Corsair "CC800D-USB3KIT Front Panel USB 3.0 Upgrade Kit" provides two standard USB 3.0 cables that the user must snake through the PC's case through holes at the rear of the case, the USB 3.0 cables then connected to two USB 3.0 ports at the rear I/O panel.

This Nzxt PHANTOM 630 case connects its two front accessible USB 3.0 ports to the X79 chipset based motherboard exactly as I wanted it to do, via a cable with a 19-pin connector that matches up with the 19-pin USB 3.0 connector on the motherboard.

Another issue this Nzxt PHANTOM 630 case solved perfectly was its size. I wanted the largest case possible to ensure I'd have no problem installing today's powerful GPU logic cards. But due to space limitations in my rather small office I needed a PC case that closely matched that of the Corsair Obsidian 800D, which is the largest case (height-wise) I can install. The Nzxt PHANTOM 630 case is just about the same height as the Corsair Obsidian 800D; perfect for my needs.

Where the Nzxt PHANTOM 630 case excels over the Corsair Obsidian 800D is airflow. With the Corsair Obsidian 800D, excluding the power supply's fan the only bottom and/or front panel mounted fans for drawing in cool air are via a single 140mm fan that's located "almost" at the bottom of the case and a single 120mm fan dedicated for cooling only the two 3.5" SSD/HDs located at the bottom-front of the case. Actually the 140mm intake fan is mounted on a horizontal panel that separates the power supply and space at the bottom-front of the case for the two 3.5" SSD/HDs that are BELOW the horizontal panel ----- from the motherboard area; a four drives', 3.5" "hot" swappable SSD/HD cage; and five, 5.25" front accessible drive bays that are ABOVE the horizontal panel.

The single 120mm intake fan is dedicated to cooling only the two 3.5" SSD/HDs located at the bottom-front area of the case. The single 140mm intake fan located on that horizontal panel draws in cool air for the rest of the PC which includes feeding cool air to a 140mm exhaust fan cooling the four 3.5" SSD/HD drives in the "hot" swappable SSD/HD cage; either a 120mm or 140mm exhaust fan located at the top of the rear panel; and up to three 120mm exhaust fans located at the top panel of the Corsair Obsidian 800D case (where I installed my Corsair H100i closed-loop water cooled CPU radiator). That's up to five fans, one of them 140mm, one either a 120mm or 140mm and three 120mm fans usually configured as exhaust against one 140mm fan configured as intake. Five against one is a losing battle. What happens is the five exhaust against the one intake create a negative pressure environment inside the PC case. When that happens air is drawn into the case wherever there is an opening. This tends to draw in dust and dirt, which doesn't help matters.

As shipped the Nzxt PHANTOM 630 provides two 200mm 700 RPM fans that can be set to three different speeds via a fan controller's three-speed switch located at the top-front of the case. One 200mm fan is located at the bottom of the front panel of the case, the other at the rear of the top panel of the case. A 140mm fan is mounted at the top of the rear panel of the case. A second 200mm fan can be added at the front of the top panel of the case.

The Nzxt PHANTOM 630 offers many fan configurations. Instead of two 200mm fans at the top panel two 140mm or three 120mm fans are supported. The top of the rear panel will support either one 140mm or one 120mm fan. Instead of the one 200mm fan located at the bottom of the front panel of the case either two 120mm or two 140mm fans are supported.

I've the longer Corsair AX1200i power supply installed within my Nzxt PHANTOM 630. Even with this longer power supply I've room to install (and I did install) two 140mm fans capable of (but not running at) 3,000 RPM in front of it on the bottom of the case. (This area also supports two 120mm fans.) I moved the 700 RPM 200mm fan located at the bottom of the front panel to the front of the top panel of the case. This move ends with both 700 RPM 200mm fans mounted on the top panel of the case, next to each other. In place of the 700 RPM 200mm fan that was removed from the bottom of the front panel of the case I installed a 200mm 1,100 RPM Nzxt fan. I removed the 140mm fan at the top of the rear panel of the case and replaced it with another of the 140mm fans capable of 3,000 RPM. Under the two 200mm fans mounted on the top panel of the case is my Corsair H100i closed loop CPU cooler's radiator with two 120mm fans mounted to it. The three 200mm fans are controlled via the Nzxt PHANTOM 630 case's included three-speed fan controller that can support up to ten fans. In my case all of the rest of the fans are connected to fan headers on my Intel X79 chipset based motherboard. With the capability of controlling the speeds of all fans attached to motherboard fan headers and strategically placed "Post-it" notes over vents on the case I can ensure positive air pressure exists in the case (the un-sticky end of the Post-it notes are blown away from the case vents). If the un-sticky ends over the case vents are sucked against the case vents, then negative air pressure exists within the case.

A feature I like in the Nzxt case is a 120mm or 140mm "pivot" fan that can be mounted inside the case on the left-hand side of the 3.5" bay that supports up to three 3.5" SSD/HD drives. This three drive 3.5" bay is mounted directly below a 5.25" bay supporting up to four 5.25" drives. This fan can pivot, its air flow directed to providing additional air for the hot running GPU or GPUs. Another great feature is a switch that turns on two white LEDs that light up the rear I/O panel and logic card slots areas making it easier to see things back there when necessary.

In closing the Nzxt PHANTOM 630 case isn't perfect. What I liked about the Corsair Obsidian 800D was its construction mostly out of metal, all the way around, on all panels whereas the Nzxt PHANTOM 630 case's top and front are plastic. But when you consider the superior airflow of the Nzxt PHANTOM 630 case and the two white LEDs lighting up the rear panel of the case, these two "positive" features far outweigh the plastic top and front panels on the Nzxt PHANTOM 630 case.
