Most Helpful Customer Reviews on Amazon.com (beta)
In glass screen protectors the name of the game is to identify players in this market that have some degree of differentiation and can provide evidence that there is some value added. That's especially the case when the asking price is in a narrow range between many competitors.
So I'm find a lot of companies in the seven to $12 range.
That being said, If you're in the market for the glass screen protector for your iPhone 6+, the one from Merritt direct (sample sent to me in exchange for an unbiased review) has all the goods:
✔ Good packaging, it comes in a box and includes auxiliary prep tools such as cleaning cloth and detailed instructions. However, I think they should make available an ''official'' company video that shows how to apply it. Being that you only get ONE sheet, I they need to do everybody possible to make things go smoothly.
✔ The product comes with protective skin attached along with the tab that easy to pull off in order to start the process of application.
✔ Putting it on was easy, as is the case with glass screen protectors in general. There are no bubbles to deal with as all you need to do is align properly. Do that right first time everything virtually take care of itself. There is some degree of fine-tuning and squeezing out bubbles, but I've now done several applications and have found the process for more trouble-free than ever was the case with plastic screen protectors.
All that being said this is a good choice based upon my personal experience. If they add a link to an instructional video, I'll add the 5th star.
I don't know if this is case with other phones but with the iPhone 6+, the easiest way to fly a glass screen protector is to align the speaker at the top. That's the slipped-like opening with the sound comes out when you're having conversation on your phone.
This will be the second screen protector glass I have gifted. The .27mm laminate glass sheet is almost un noticeable when installed ontot eh iPhone6. It does NOT cover the entire front of the iPhone6, only the flat face. The 9H hardened glass surface will protect against scratching. Abrasion from large and small objects. Over time, the most destructive action to a phone face is casual cleaning. A paper towel with dust impurities could do hundreds of dollars in damage. With the merit hardened to 9H glass screen protector If you have contaminates harder than 9H and do actually scuff the surface you can simply peel it off and put a new one on. Should the face of the phone receive the scuffing, it is not so simple to recover.
The installation is simple enough. Use the moist chemical wipe, then the included clean soft cloth to dry off the face. Position the phone. Grasp the tab on the glass shield and carefull pull the film covering the adhesive down a third, position the shiel, and pull the backing tab down and let the glass sheet settle onto the phones face. Drag your finger across the center of the face and the protectors adhesive will settle from center out to edge for a neat installation. Should the phone recieve an impact, or bend sufficient to shatter the glass. It is a laminate like safey glassand YOu can simply peel it off and re install a new one.
9H hardness Tempered glass withstands Shock and is Scratch Proof. Sharp objects like Knives and Keys will not leave a scratch. The Merit Screen Protector is 0.26mm thin with 2.5D Rounded Edge design for a precise fit. High Definition Clarity without compromising Touch Sensitivity. The Oleophobic coating protects your phone from fingerprints, water, wear, oil, and other stains. The Merit Screen Protector is Easy to Install/Remove and Bubble-Free with perfect cutouts. The Merit Screen Protector Package includes: Merit(tm) Screen Protector, Cleaning cloth, Dust Removal Sticker
And in my desire to maintain my youth, it had come to my attention that glass is the new black. But for the iPhone 6+, glass protectors presented an issue with regard to the surface area covered due to the phone's curved edges. Searching for "full screen glass protector" doesn't quite reduce the number of products that one is inundated with. And even the ones that claim to cover the entire screen fall short.
Yes, yes, I know ... read the fine print that acknowledges how "full screen coverage" is actually defined. That was the only thing I was looking for, as all models seem to share the same scientific characteristics like oleo-whatever-the-funk and tempered glass, with rather curious photos of razor blades threatening to cut the screen; or the phone that remains unscathed even after being subject to an assault rifle, hammer, elephant, oneself.
And yes, also read the other reviews.
I thought I had found the perfect one: in terms of price, reviews, ratings, and above all that, one that actually covers the entirety of the screen.
It was relatively easy to put on. My inherent nature and predisposition of being misaligned manifested itself into the alignment of the glass screen on my phone. And since my phone now fears not any razor blades, the misalignment must remain.
Speed of delivery: excellent;
The difficulty with this situation lies in the return of the product. Blah blah blah.
It works fine, though! It feels smooth to the touch - like glass. . ...
For what it's worth (the product, not the clause that's about to follow): this does the job adequately, if in conjunction with a phone case.
