My respect for R.K.Narayan grew after reading this, the first letter which Swami's father writes was with perfect wording... The illustrations by R.K.Laxman are so deinite that they give an idea and required imaginative spirit for the story that is being told...

for slightly older kids.. My daughter is 8 and I think she seemed tad young for it. It had stories about a teacher who can't tolerate hinduism and advocates islam. didn't like it for my daughter who has no concepts of religion.
