Product Description

Most 3.5mm AUX audio cables have two things in common: they don't last long and they are ugly. Many people have experienced an auxiliary cable going bad and only playing music out of one speaker, if at all. The MOS Spring takes the humble 3.5mm cable to a whole new level of design and quality. The spring features only the best materials to ensure this would be the only 3.5mm cable you will ever need to buy. We're so sure of this that we are offering a lifetime warranty on every MOS Spring AUX cable we sell. Anodized aluminum heads not only give added protection to the conductor, it also gives the Spring a classy, high quality look and feel. Metal spring strain relief protects the most vulnerable part of the cable. It also ensures the cable will work great with the MOS and the MOS Memos. The Heavy Duty Braided Cable keeps the conductor protected from any abuse. If your MOS Spring AUX cable fails for any reason, just send it back and we'll give you a new one, no questions asked. The MOS Spring AUX cable comes in three different color choices to match your personality.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lasted about a week 26 August 2014
By Chaimav - Published on Amazon.com

I am not sure if they have poor quality control, or just a poor design but it only lasted about a week. I was severly dissapointed becuase it cost so much money, about 3-4 times a standard cable. I was willing to pay the price if was as durable as it was claimed to be. Oh well, the search will go on for a truly durable cable.
After about a week of use in my car, both springs separated from their connectors. The one on the Micro-B (phone) end remain attached to the cable but the whole thing separated from the connector and exposed the wires. On the Standard-A (charger) end the spring separated from the connector and was able to slide freely up and down the cable. I did see that it left behind a bit of black epoxy so at least they *tried* to glue it in place.
If you are wondering why I gave it 2 stars instead of one:
A) It was easy to get a full refund via Amazon
B) It did actually work for charging my phone, and I probably could have patched it up with some super-glue

Note: I have uploaded photos of the faulty cable ends.

Update 10/8/2015
********************************************************
After reading my review, the company contacted me via a comment to my review (you can view it in the comments section) and they offered a free updated cable.

I received the cable, and when I tried using it with my 2 port car charger, it did not work in the port I normally use. I switched it to the other port and it worked OK. When I switched I back, I realized it was a bit loose and if I wiggled it would work.

Being an engineer, I took out my caliper and looked up the reference specification for a USB Type A plug, and it appears the plug is slightly out of tolerance. The distance of the opening inside the connector should be 1.95 +/- 0.05 mm. The connector measured 2.2 to 2.3 mm. (Note: My caliper is not officially calibrated, so it may off. I also had to convert from inches to millimeters).

I contacted the company with my findings back in August when I received the cable, but have not heard back from them.

As for the springs themselves, it is only my opinion, but I feel that are not stiff enough and do little more for stress relief than the actual metallic cable sheath. I suspect they are there more as a marketing gimmick than real functionality.

In summary, even with the updated cable, it still appears that they still have major quality control issues. Well beyond what their high price would justify.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not indestructible. 11 January 2016

Had the cable for more than a month now, and it fell victim to the same treatment as my past cables. Wire around the cable is coming undone at the usb end. For the price of the cable and the advertising I would have expected more from this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than others, warranty makes it worth the cost 13 May 2016
By Dad of 2 - Published on Amazon.com

It's a bold claim to say that these will last a lifetime. I've never seen any cord that can live up to that. That said, my son was going through other charging cable every two or three months, but the MOS cable he got lasted 5 months. Not sure why it failed, as there was no noticeable bend or break in it anywhere. However, and this is why it gets 5 stars and why I ordered another one, Sewell Direct makes good on their lifetime warranty and sent a replacement. If I'm going to be replacing a cable a couple times a year, might as well be one with a warranty. The replacement was sent promptly and painlessly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tough cable for the abusive owner 19 September 2016
By Gerardo Gonzalez - Published on Amazon.com

I've had great experiences with generic cables from places like Walgreens or gas stations but lately the quality in cables is severely falling. My small apartment has only a few outlets so the distance from my bed and my night table to them is an issue. After two failed purchases with other 10 feet cables I decided to give the MOS Spring a try. So far the cable looks and feels like the first day. Its strong, flexible and comes with a warranty. What makes this product stand out over other micro USB cables is it has resisted the greatest abuse possible: children. Whenever I let any of my younger family members play with my phone during charging they would bend the phone at the charger and this would lead to a bent and broken USB head. This cable has resisted this kind of abuse. It is compatible with the GS7 fast charge so it doesn't increase charging times. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and recommend anyone with a history of purchasing various other cables to get the MOS Spring cable.

I was not paid for this review. I am reviewing this product because of my positive experience and satisfaction with purchase. I am not affiliated to MOS or any of their brands. I did not receive a discount for this review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Broke within a few months; Excellent Customer Service 12 May 2016
By Beth Souheaver - Published on Amazon.com

Its only been a couple months and the wiring where the spring is is falling apart. I now have shoddy charging capabilities that seem to waste more battery than it gives and even less money to buy a new charger, I've had other normal cables last me longer than this one did.
Edit; After reviewing the company took it upon themselves to contact me and were happy enough to ship me a replacement cord for the previously broken one. I hope this one lasts longer than its predecessor, but the companies eagerness to right issues is wonderful. The cord even shipped to me in one night! Excellent customer care, and quick to address issues.
