From the Manufacturer
LG Google Nexus 5
Making a powerful entry in the Nexus series, the Google Nexus 5 by LG packs a punch with its sleek design and its touch-sensitive user interface. One of the key highlights of this smartphone is that like its predecessors, it uses stock Android, the original version of the platform that’s devoid of all customisations.
Goodbye Blurred Images
The powerful new lens of the Google Nexus 5 lets you freeze brighter pictures even in low-light conditions. Its optical image stabilization feature cuts down on the blurring effect to a large extent. It captures steady shots by eliminating camera shakes that are most common occurrences for hand-held devices, resulting in clear and sharp images and videos.
Produces Professional-Quality Images
The LG Nexus 5 also comes with an HDR+ mode that lets you shoot several images in a go so that you get the best shot with a wider dynamic range. It provides bright daytime and dramatic night-time images. You can capture brilliant daytime pictures with just the right brightness and the background distinctly visible, while the night-time pictures will appear sharp with reduced background noise. The built-in software in the camera blends the images such that you get photos that are vivid and crystal clear.
Print on the Move
Great for those who like to be productive on the move, this smart device lets you wirelessly communicate to printers for printing documents, sending email attachments or choosing from the other print options. All you need is a printer compatible with Google Cloud Print and you will be good to go.
Tell Your Story with Auto Awesome
The Auto Awesome feature enables you to make a movie by mixing your high-quality videos and photographs. To give you the feel of watching a streaming video, this LG smartphone lets you add your favourite background music clip too. So archive the prime moments in your life and tell your story in a better way with this thoughtful feature.
An Eye-Catching Display
With a wide 5-inch multi-touch area, you get more space to accomplish your tasks. The full HD display has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and pixel density of 445ppi and lets you view movies, videos and photos with picture-perfect clarity. It reduces glare and provides a broader viewing angle resulting in images that are vibrant and colourful.
Power in Your Hands
Multitask on the LG Google Nexus 5 with ease as a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor rests under the hood along with a 2GB RAM. In addition to letting you launch multiple applications at the same time, these components also offer smooth navigation when switching from one application to another. Its immensely powerful 2300mAh battery gives you a continuous talk time of about 17 hours and a standby time of almost 13 days or 300 hours on a single charge. One of the USPs of the Nexus 5 black is that the smartphone comes with a built-in wireless charging back plate for on-the-go charging too.
The Google Nexus 5 D821 has been made from materials that not only make the phone very robust, but exceptionally handy as well. With a thickness of just 8.59mm and weight of 130g, you can easily slip in the smartphone in your shirt pocket and carry it just about anywhere. This device makes a style statement wherever you go. You get to choose between shades like black and white for this phone.
Accurately Executes Voice Commands
One of the most important aspects of the Nexus 5 by LG is its voice recognition feature. Just say ‘OK Google’ and the phone will instantly activate speech recognition and get ready to execute your commands. You can ask the device to send text messages, play music, get directions and do a lot of other things without touching the screen.
Guides You on the Way
With this Google device as your companion, you will never lose your way in an unknown location. Google Maps are pre-loaded on the KitKat-based device to give you accurate information about the different routes you can take to reach your destination. So get help with turn-by-turn navigation, look for public transit options or simply find an alternate route to avoid traffic jams in a matter of seconds.
Keeps You Socially Active at All Times
Keeping in touch with friends and family over social media networks is a breeze on this Nexus gadget. It is pre-loaded with Google+ and allows you to make video calls to your near and dear ones via Hangouts. Needless to say, you can use the gadget for accessing a number of popular social media websites including Facebook and Twitter.

Display and body:
The display has been stunning and it remains so. I am not using any screen guard or a case for last several months and there is not even a single scratch on the screen. I am not over protecting, so I can vouch for the screen quality. The back of the phone does have some signs of wear but that is bound to happen to a white phone with no case. Still, it doesn't look like it's been used for an year. My Samsungs got really ugly within 3-4 months only.
I have used Samsung Galaxy Note 1, Note 2 and HTC One and other than HTC, all Samsungs would get slow over time. I have had to reset the phones every few months to recover some of the performance back. With Nexus 5, it has been performing exceedingly well and I haven't reset it yet. The Snapdragon 800 processor is still one of best out there. I did have to reboot the phone a couple of times when the phone kind of hung, but that looked more like a third party app issue.
This is the weakest point of the phone but is still good for a day of heavy usage. After 1 year of heavy use, I have noticed marginal decrease in the battery capacity, about 10% I would say. With a moderate usage, the phone can last for 1 and a half day easily, which is what most smartphones would last anyway. Since I always have access to some sort of charging facility, the battery has never been an issue for me, but could be for others.
People have already said a lot of this phone, so I won't add any further. All I would say is that if you really want to spend more than 20k on a smartphone, then don't even look at any of the Micromax/Karbonn/Lenovo etc, just go for it. You would love it for sure.
Nexus 5 came with Kitkat and got upgraded in a couple of days of my purchase to Lollipop 5.0 and now to 5.0.1.. Awaiting 5.0.2.
The device is zippy in performance. Its ideal in size, weight, shape & has great build...of course for what I paid...!
I am glad I grabed it..Sad to know that Nexus 5 is going to be extinct soon..!!
I have no issues after 2 months of use as of writing this review (8-Jan-15).
I don't have any complaints regarding camera as others had. I understand some updates have happend to the Camera software. The pictures look good for me.
I am glad that the camera has optical IS. It shows up in low-light situations. Well, I don't use mobile camera that much for any serious work..but for catching some casual candids or take a copy of a bill/receipt..etc..
I bought Spigen "Spigen SGP10560 Ultra Fit Premium SF Coated Matte Hard Case" from Amazon. It is a very good case snug-fits Nexus 5.
I was considering Samsung Galaxy S5 too. But I am glad I bought Nexus 5..- Surely a winner from Google & LG..!
I got the phone from USA. After 2 years of rigourous usage along with Network data of the crulest telecom service providers of india, the battery started draining fast. So I changed the battery by a so called good looking mobile shop cum center(non LG). They received me by giving me a duplicate battery. So the battery problem went up to such an extent that the used to shut down when I connect to wifi or extend a call beyond 3min. It shut down around 50 times on a day. Finally, a good friend recommended to go to authorized LG service center Mumbai. I got the LG main customer care number from justdial Mumbai. Then got 3 authorized center numbers. One responded. I went there. By looking at the size of battery only the technician named Vijay, pointed out that the battery is duplicate and it's gone. They just replaced the battery for 975 Rupee's. Now the phone is back to its good old days. The reason for battery drainage was overcharging, charging with non compatible 2A battery bank charger instead of the compatible charger that comes with phone, use of clean master software. Believe me LG service is superb. If any of you are facing problem in Nexus 5 in Mumbai, go to the address attached with phone number or call at 9920489059 (Vijay, the technician of LG Electronics, Center Point Condominium, Unit No-A1, 002, Beside Prabhat Bakery,"Opp. Bawla Masjid", N.M.
