The book has vegetarian recipes ( I believe there is a book which has non-veg recipes, but I opted for the veg recipe one).
The book has a good collection of Maharashtrian and also recipes from other cuisines.
I have tried a few recipes ( Valacha Birde, khichadi: different version- great recipes! and then tomato rice- which was sadly a flop ). Meh! Happens. These recipes ( great ones) have been blogged on 'a cook at heart blogspot'.
I like the book and the recipe collection, however, I do wish they had proofread the recipes before printing.
The method could have been explained clearly ( the author should presume that there will be absolute beginner cooks and will need a good bit of handholding) and proof read the steps so as not to miss out any step, for example I made the khichadi, which has vegetables in the ingredient list, but when to add these has been omitted in the method!
Over all a good book with a lot to choose from.
