5.0 out of 5 stars Better than I expected! 17 October 2015

Ok, I'll chime in since no one else has yet...

First, why did I purchase this? Well, my wife and I decided to go and purchase a new van for our kids, as we just had a 3rd child, and a car wasn't big enough anymore. At the dealership, we are looking at 2 vans, one with an entertainment system built-in and one without... Built-in entertainment system was like an extra 1500 bucks. All it was was a flip down, low-quality screen with a dvd player and 32GB of digital storage. Really!? That's what costs 1500? So, I looked into some options...

What did I conclude? I could get a device like this, with a decent tablet that has a high-res screen and so on. for like 25% of the price. So, I bought a decent Windows 10 tablet, 11in, for $350 and this device for $30. BOOM, works flawlessly! I can even hotspot my tablet and stream videos from my home Media Plex server with my unlimited, unthrottled T-mobile data plan (or just load up all the videos earlier too). I also have STEAM gaming installed with some kids games and a wireless controller that work great with the tablet. You could NOT do this with the built-in expensive system. And, in the future, I am not stuck with an outdated device as I can always swap in a new tablet years from now. It is also touch-screen, and an HD screen. yay!

So, let me rate this device:

PROS:
- Seems well-built
- DOES NOT SHAKE OR JIGGLE!!! This is very rigid!
- Easy to install and take off if necessary.
- The flexible length made it easy to adjust the size of our van so it sat in the perfect middle
- Tiltable up down left and right once tablet is placed.
- My tablet once ran out of power and I threw in my wife's 8in tablet as I didn't yet have tablet car charger, no issue

CONS:
- Gotta keep maybe a little baggie in the glove box to hold the tablet size adjusters. (So easy to change I can't take a star away)

Final Word:
So, I enjoyed it. It seems like a high-quality product and does not feel cheap. I'd recommend it for anyone looking for a great travel companion, but can also be great for even a 45 min commute. Just word of caution, my work gives me a higher-end tablet (Dell Venue Pro 11), and it requires 19.5v output charging, which you just can't get from a car microUSB charger, so I purchased a different one not so power hungry that permanently sits there now. Just make sure you get a tablet that you can be used whilst plugged into a car charger without draining for long road-trips.

4.0 out of 5 stars Seems sturdy enough for the job 4 April 2016

Just received it. Seems sturdy enough for the job, but I haven't taken it for an extended road trip yet. I intend to use this with an older Toshiba 10" tablet (TF300). It is wider than most newer tablets, but it seems to just barely fit. It would be nice if the mount had a small 'lip' to hold it more securely, but like I said, I think this will be secure enough.

One note: The illustration in the directions shows the ability to twist the mount 360 degrees (to allow the tablet to be mounted in portrait or landscape mode). At first it seemed as though mine was fixed in portrait mode. It took quite a bit of playing, but I finally found that I depressed the small button at the base of the mount and twisted with a lot of force (really, a LOT of force), the piece moves in 'clicks'. You will feel uncomfortable putting as much pressure as it takes, but it does eventually move. Hope this helps others.

4.0 out of 5 stars Watch movies on the road 6 January 2017

This Headrest tablet holder is a pretty good item. It's easy to set up. You simply pull your Headrest up a few clicks, then you snap on the two pieces that connect to the bars on the Headrest. Then you tighten each one by simply turn the dials and lastly you flip the clip up to adjust the length of the holder. Works great. We use it every time we go on a small or big trip and we use a Dell 2-in-1 and flip it to the tablet mode and on next it. Fits great plus the holder has a locking mechanism to ensure safety and that it does not drop. Some reason it does not hold our Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7 but still great product. I would highly recommend to anyone especially if you have children for those long road trips. Great product, love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great! 24 December 2016

This works great in the backseat with the kids! We installed it so our youngest could watch baby Einstein on a 22 hour car trip we took and it worked wonderfully. The arm is plastic and metal, but has held up very well. I used it with my iPad Air and was able to adjust it to fit perfectly. Some other reviews mentioned that their devices fell out with bumps because there isn't a lip on the clips that hold the device. I found if you just tighten it down a bit more, it stays in place on rough roads of all sorts. We haven't had the iPad fall out at all. It's also easy to remove the iPad during the car ride if you'd like to. I definitely recommend this product if you'd like a low priced option that works great!

Used to own a different version by another company (the one that sells vent attachments, and under seat, and cupholder, etc.) - that cost twice as much. This thing is brilliant, works on virtually all of our iPads (though it does not seem happy holding them with the case - but given how well it works otherwise, something I'm willing to live with). The other one I owned (will update when I figure out the name), held the iPads well, but fell apart after a year, and did not have the same extension ability, and required locking down to keep from drooping. This is set it and forget it, easy to adjust close or away from the seat, and is less bulky.
