I finally got my Belkin QODE Ultimate Keyboard Case from Amazon (India). This is my second order as the first one had some issues and I was not able to turn it on. After prolonged discussion with the Belkin Tech support, it was confirmed that the piece was faulty, hence I had to return it. In a way it was a boon in disguise for me as I got the second one Rs500 less than the first one.

The second one works as a charm, I charged it for a couple of hours to pump in the juice it needed, and now I started to write this review using the keyboard. It won't be unjust if I say it has turned my iPAD air 2 into a Mac Micro. Yes, except the trackpad, this keyboard offers everything. And typing is as easy as it would be on any laptop/netbook. The key travel is perfect and the space between the keys are perfectly placed. It also uses iPad's auto correct feature and makes typing faster and easier.

I've not yet reviewed the battery life and durability of this product, but this definitely look promising.

5.0 out of 5 stars This IS ... the BEST of the BEST iPad Air 2 keyboard case 23 January 2015
By Neil Ducoff - Published on Amazon.com
My MacBook Pro lives on my desk since the iPad 2. As a writer and speaker, I need and travel with a keyboard. I've been a big fan of Zagg keyboards ... until the Belkin QODE Ultimate. Selection has been sparce for the iPad Air 2. I pre-ordered both the Zagg Slim Book and Clamcase. The Zagg arrived just before Christmas. First observation was the "CHEAP" and flimsy plastic case for the iPad Air 2. It just didn't fit the iPad well. The next issue was the hinge. It was so stiff to open and close that the iPad would pop out of the case ... and the thin plastic strip above the Lightning port cracked. The keyboard did not have the touch and feel of previous Zaggs. Four weeks later, the case holding the iPad would pop out of the hinge every time I closed it. Seriously disappointed and returned for a refund.

Next: The Clamcase was very well made ... but has two basic design problems that caused me to send it back. The Clamcase website said the Lightning port opening "fits all Apple made charging cables." Yes, it fits Apple's Lightning charging cabel. NO ... it doesn't fit the Apple made VGA Lightning adapter cable. To use during presentations, I'd have to pop the iPad out of the Clamcase. Next issue is that it ships with an extender for the earphone port because the opening is so small, few earphone jacks will fit ... including my Beats MyBeats earbuds. And...I really wanted a keyboard case that allowed me to simply separate my iPad from the keyboard to enjoy my tablet.

The Belkin QODE Ultimate looked like quality right out of the box. The plastic iPad cover looked well-made, sturdy and features a soft leatherett covering. The iPad popped in nicely and fit perfectly and snugly ... yet easily removable. The keyboard has a very impressive and responsive feel to it for fast typing. The keys have a nice touch and feel to them compared the many other keyboards I've used. (I'm really picky when it comes to keyboards.) Bluetooth syncing is fast for two devices.

The iPad mounts to the keyboard via the internal iPad magnets and one of two rubber coated mounting magnet locations on the keyboard. The rear mount is best for lap and desk typing. When mounted, I can lift the iPad and the keyboard holds impressively well. The iPad is held upright by the rear flap magnet that attaches to an embedded magnet on the rear of iPad case. It's pretty sturdy ... but easily disconnects if I lift the iPad too quickly or at an angle when removing it from the keyboard mount. I would prefer a stronger flap magnet, but after a little practice in closing the iPad onto the keyboard ... and it's fine.

I like the option to mount the iPad in portrait mode. I'm sure I'll use it, but not often. What's really nice is to be able to simply lift the iPad off the keyboard and use it as a tablet.

I like the no "on/off" button feature. The magnets know when to turn the keyboard on and off. There are some unique function keys that I haven't seen on other keyboards including the "screen shot." I do miss the addition row of iPad specific function keys featured on Zagg keyboards ... but it's no big deal having to hold the "function" key while hitting one of the multi-function number keys. And it's no big deal that the CAPs lock key doesn't have a light to indicate that it's on.

The backlit keyboard is very well done with three brightness levels ... all of which illuminate evenly across the keyboard. The Zagg Slim Book had only one brightness level that I would describe as better than having no backlit keyboard.

All in all ... I am very impressed with the Belkin Ultimate Keyboard, its quality, well thought design and features.

You won't regret the investment in the Belkin QODE Ultimate keyboard case.

1.0 out of 5 stars Annoyed at this price vs quality 3 May 2015

Purchased in March.
Almost immediately, the rubber pads that cover the magnets started to fall off.
Clearly not well thought out.

UPDATE:
Several email to/from belkin, and now a phone call that was useless.
They ask questions that cannot be answered, and state I have not used the case in the correct manner.
TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME
at 130.00 for a freakin case.....they could at least stand behind it.
Never again Belkin, never.

3.0 out of 5 stars great materials, but needs better QA 14 January 2017
By Wilson M - Published on Amazon.com

Had this for only a month before having to return it.

While I had it, it was great. The build quality felt top notch. The keyboard felt like it was made of aluminum and matched my iPad in both color and material. It never had any issues automatically pairing up with my iPad. The many different angles it allows the iPad to be positioned was great. It could be used from any angle. The keyboard didn't feel cheap and mushy like other keyboards normally do. The case also served well to protect the iPad, as it was very durable.

Using the iPad as a normal tablet was slightly annoying. The case could never fold completely flat, so it was always slightly tilted while holding it.
I had to return it when the rubber began to peel. The adhesive on the rubber trim failed, greatly disappointing me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great keyboard case for the price 28 December 2016
By Steven Y - Published on Amazon.com
Verified Purchase
Lightweight and easy to use. I bought this case because of the minimalist look, I treat all of my technology with extreme care so I have yet to test the protective factor of the case. I bought this case primarily for the keyboard. The keyboard is very nice to type on as it has fairly large key travel and a pleasing clicking sound. The micro USB charger that it comes with to charge the keyboard is cheap and can only support .5 Amps. So basically it can only be used to charge the keyboard and not any other devices. I threw it away because if I used it to charge my phone by accident it would charge super slowly.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's great when I set it up on a counter and ... 20 September 2016

I've been using this keyboard for a couple of weeks. It's great when I set it up on a counter and use the keyboard but not as great if I want to use my iPad without the keyboard. If I open the cover up like a book, and fold the keyboard side behind the iPad, it just flaps in the breeze. It needs either an elastic band or some magnets to keep It in place. I know I'm not describing this very well but what i'm trying to say is that this works great as a keyboard, but not great as a regular iPad cover.
