5.0 out of 5 stars Life n Soul BM101 IPX4 packs a punch! 23 January 2016

Life n Soul BM101 IPX4 the good, the bad, and the ugly truth....

The Good:
Compact size (It is small folks!!! Like REALLY small)
Waterproof
Sound quality and volume
Can be used while charging
Simple to pair
Simple three button operation (though there is a drawback to this)

The Bad:
Battery life
Volume buttons

The Ugly Truth:
So far I have purchased two of these speakers, one in blue and one in white. Let me start off by saying these speakers are tiny....like rinky, dinky, smaller than your pinky tiny! (see pic) That being said for such a small speaker it puts out some very robust sound and a surprising amount of bass. I have yet to take either of ours somewhere they might be exposed to moisture so the one aspect I can not attest to is the worthiness of this unit in moisture. That being said I believe it would hold up rather well, just haven't found myself needing to use that function yet.

The white one I purchased has performed flawlessly, however the blue one seems to have a bit of a bug in it as it only stays charged for 30 minutes at a time. I contacted the seller in regards to this issue and was told it is due to the compact size of the speaker. A little befuddled as to why the other one I purchased held a charge longer I emailed the manufacturer and was told it should hold a charge for two hours. The seller offered me a refund based on this new information of which I took full advantage as I feel my unit is defective. So big time kudos to the seller given some sellers do not stand behind their product at all.

The sound that comes out of this little speaker is A to the MAZE, AMAZING!!! The bass in this little fella shakes the speaker so much that it will vibrate right off the shelf if you let it. It isn't ear shattering loud, and it sure as heck is not Bose quality (nor did I expect it to be at this price point), but for the price and size of this little fella you will be awe stricken at the sound it puts out.

The strap that comes with the unit is a little flimsy and the method of attachment is questionable (see pic) but so far the strap has been functional....though I am curious as to whether it will hold up to prolonged usage, time will tell.

The included charging cable is a standard micro USB cable

Pairing this speaker is simple and easy though reading through other reviews it appears as some people have struggled with it, I did not experience any problems pairing to any device I have used with it.

The speaker is simplistic as there are only three buttons located on the device and they are as follows:

The middle button (square) is the power on/off, play/pause, and pairing button. To power the unit on you simply depress the middle button until the unit powers up then release. To put it in discoverable mode you keep the power button depressed as you turn the unit on until you see the lights blink and hear it beep, the unit can then be paired with a compatible bluetooth device. To shut the unit off simply depress the middle button until you hear the unit beep and see the lights shut off.

The other two buttons (round) serve as volume up/down as well as track forward and backwards. The volume up and down can be a little tricky due to the buttons serving multiple functions. If you hit the volume buttons too quickly rather than the volume changing you either skip forward one track or reverse one track. To adjust the volume one must depress the button and hold it until you hear the volume level change. It isn't a deal breaker for me, but I'd be lying if I said it isn't a tough frustrating.

For the current reduced price I do not think you can go wrong with the Life n Soul BM101 IPX 4, but at the full price point I feel there are other better options out there so buy it now while they are still at the cheaper price.
1.0 out of 5 stars Turns off unexpectedly, even with battery and internet service.. 8 September 2015

I'd really like a refund. I did extensive research before purchasing this, and thought I was getting a good buy.
This speaker turns off so much hat I cannot use it anymore (with full internet service, fully charged, and even when plugged in) .
I've never had uninterrupted time with this little guy and wish I saved for a better quality speaker.
5.0 out of 5 stars I am surprised by how good the bass sounds in such a small package 7 January 2016

Battery life is meh... packaging says 2.5 hours of play time. I mainly use it in the shower, so at 20 mins a pop, each charge would last me a week or so. I am surprised by how good the bass sounds in such a small package. So for a shower tune, this is 5 star.

1.0 out of 5 stars Tiny! Overpriced! 29 May 2015

I bought it to give a present for a nephew. This is not mini, is tiny. So small that seems a piñata's toy. OK sounds for its size but definitely overpriced. Invest a few more bucks and buy the JBL Micro or Clip instead (I have one and is great). That's a safe bet!
